This group tour is a sample itinerary. This 9-day group vacation to Peru is a treat for foodies as it showcases the nation’s celebrated and diverse flavours. First stop is the capital Lima, South America’s gastronomic capital and home to some of the best restaurants on the planet. Explore the city’s fascinating local districts, including the art galleries and coastal views of Barranco and the colonial palaces and churches of Lima District. Multiple culinary experiences, including a cooking class with Chef Ignacio Barrios and dinner at the pre-Incan pyramid of Huaca Pucllana, also showcase the city’s exceptional cuisine.

Continue your foodie group tour of Peru in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where you’ll learn about the importance of corn in the Andean diet during a farm-to-table lunch experience. Meet with local Quechua villagers and take part in their agricultural practices at Misminay village before you explore the mighty Incan fortress of Ollantaytambo. You’ll also see the concentric agricultural terraces of Moray and the mountainside salt pools of Maras before you enjoy a traditional culinary experience of a feast cooked in a wooden oven.

Your trip peaks with a tour of Machu Picchu, the Lost Citadel of the Incas and one of the world’s most breathtaking monuments. Morning at leisure so you can relax after your international flight

Afternoon Rediscovering the artistic and bohemian Barranco district on foot
Explore the creative center of the city: Barranco. Visit artists' workshops, craft shops and enjoy the best street art alongside spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and Lima Bay. Among beautiful historic architecture, you will learn about the history of the city, full of lovely roads, old houses, and small plazas, as well as buzzing cafes and restaurants.

Reconnecting with our past through coffee
We will visit El Cacaotal a boutique coffee house nearby owned by Amanda and Felipe, a couple committed to cacao growers, chocolatiers and coffee growers from all over Peru, emphasizing their dedication to Peruvian cacao and highlighting how diverse the fruits of this commitment can be.

Evening Premium One to One Cooking Experience w/cheff Ignacio Barrios. Dinner is included
Following your day tour, we will go to Urban Kitchen is a space where people come to learn how to easily cook in a social and friendly environment the different dishes of Peruvian and international cuisine. After cooking, they’ll sit at the table and eat what they’ve cooked. At that point, the experience of a class will mix with a restaurant experience. We’ll make special emphasis on the history of Peruvian cuisine, especially the influence of other cuisines and how we got to be one of the most important in the world at this time. We’ll talk about historical, social and cultural issues that’ll make the experience not only focused on the kitchen, but also in Peruvian culture.

Day 3

Lima

Morning Panoramic Visit to Colonial and Modern Lima
You will be driven to the center of the colonial city, the Main Square, where the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace and the Metropolitan City Hall are located. The tour goes on to the modern district of San Isidro, where you will get past the Huaca Huallamarca, an adobe pre-Incan pyramid

Evening Ultimate Lima Culinary Experience w/Dinner at Huaca Pucllana
You will visit four districts, engaging in different activities that will help you discover the best of Lima: Miraflores, Barranco, Chorrillos and San Isidro. First, you will participate in a pisco sour tasting guided by a professional bartender, while you enjoy the beautiful scenery of the coast of Lima. Drinks will be complemented with gourmet Amazonian appetizers, as well as a special pisco made with exotic jungle fruit. You will also prepare an Amazonian ceviche with the most high-quality ingredients. Enjoy an exquisite dinner among beautifully lit pre-Incan ruins at the Huaca Pucllana and have a taste of a delicious Peruvian dessert in the bohemian district of Barranco. On your tour, you will visit emblematic places like the Bridge of Sighs, Kennedy Park and the Olivar Park.

Lima - Cusco - Sacred Valley

This morning, transfer to the airport for you flight to Cusco (flight not included in price).

Upon arrival you will be assisted at the Cusco airport and then transferred to Sacred Valley.

Rediscovering our ancient flavor of the Andes: Hacienda Sarapampa Experience w/lunch

Hacienda Sarapampa has a privileged location in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, the property is only 40 minutes from the city of Cusco. Hacienda Sarapampa offers visitors the opportunity to have a unique cultural experience around the traditions associated with corn production practices in an authentic and natural environment. Enjoy a 3-course lunch, a farm-to-table experience based on local and family culinary recipes while learning about the culture of Cusco's giant white corn production in the Sacred Valley.


Afternoon Visit at Inkary Museum

You will visit the Inkariy Museum, where the combination of highly realistic figures, videos and music will take you through centuries of history, where you will discover cultures such as Caral, Paracas, Chavín and the Incas, among others. Thanks to this ambitious and innovative project, you can see how the ancient Peruvians looked, how they lived and how all these civilizations contributed to the country's cultural evolution.

Sacred Valley

Get to know the town of Misminay
Today we will visit the Andean community of Misminay, where we will learn about the lifestyle of Andean families. You will take a hike to the community viewpoint will give us unforgettable views of Moray's concentric terraces from a truly unparalleled perspective. In this special place, our local hosts will immerse us in the Andean worldview with a ceremony of dispatch to the Pachamama (mother earth).

Pachamanca Lunch and Distillery Session: Reconnecting con nature
With landscapes and nature as incredible as that of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, enjoying a Pachamanca lunch in a spectacular location becomes an unmissable experience. Later on you can lear about Andean distillery; where you will experience handcrafted small batch spirits from a copper alembic still. The spirits are aged using our own organic herbs from the organic farm also on the grounds of the hotel

Ollantaytambo Visit
We continue to the town of Ollantaytambo, where you will find the imposing Inca fortress that bears the same name. This place has great historical importance, because it is where Manco Inca defeated the Spanish forces in 1538. You will climb the steep stone steps, from where you will be able to admire the amazing monoliths that form the Temple of the Sun. Finally, you will return to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

Day 6

Sacred Valley

Maras Salt Mines and Moray
Located Northwest of Cusco, we will visit the huge circular and semicircular agricultural terraces near Moray, built inside natural holes on a limestone plateau facing Urubamba Valley, and used as a botanical lab by the Incas. A cosmopolitan meaning has been suggested, but its function, besides de agricultural one, remains a mystery. Nearby, after that you will enjoy a panoramic view of Maras, where we find the salt mines on old terraces and lagoons

UNU Restaurant “CAJA CHINA” Experience
Today you will enjoy a typical cook technique called “Caja China” related to cover the food with a metal plate within a wooden oven; on which we place diverse meats and vegetables and after four hours, they had a delicious and juicy meat. This is done with chicken and pork mostly. This experience will be placed at an amazing venue called UNU wit a marvelous view of the valley

Day 7

Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Rediscovering the citadel of the Incas

Early in the morning you will be transferred to the train station. You will visit one of the world's most famous landmarks: the citadel of Machu Picchu. The excursion begins on board the VISTADOME train. Upon your arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will begin your ascent to Machu Picchu, where, surely, you will live one of the most unforgettable experiences. Once there, you can walk through every corner of one of the Seven Wonders of the world, accompanied by an expert guide, and enjoy free time to explore the area. At the appropriate time, you will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes to enjoy lunch at Sanctuary Lodge. Then, you will go back to town to take the train back to Ollantaytambo. At the end of this experience, we will return to Ollantaytambo station; boarding our VISTADOME train departing at 15:48; arriving around 17:30. Time when you will be picked up and driven to the hotel for rest

Day 8

Cusco

Reconnecting with the vibrant city of Cusco
You will visit the city of Cusco, known as the Imperial City and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Here you will start your tour at the iconic San Pedro market, a local market where you can explore the colors, flavors and traditions of modern Cusco. The visit continues with the Koricancha Temple, an ancient Inca palace and cult center of the Sun God, above which the order of the Dominicans built a church, which remains standing to this day. You will continue ascending to the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, an impressive example of Inca military architecture. Afterwards, you will explore Q’enqo archeological site, where important Inca ceremonies took place. Finally, you will arrive to the Plaza de Armas (main square), where you will visit the Cathedral, the most important temple in the city.


17:00 Superfood culinary session at Rooftop Kitchen w/dinner
You will have an introductory session of Andean culinary while participating with a local chef with an extraordinary rooftop view from Cusco. You will have dinner included today as part of this session, with a dish of your own creation! Perfect way to test your knowledge after a week of culinary adventure!
