MIRIAM HIGGINS

UK EUROPE

DESTINATION SPECIALIST

I took my first plane trip when I was two years old. From there, I used to save every penny to travel the world... including Antarctica where I did the famous Polar plunge! I have been in the travel industry for over 30 years, and have been to over 30 countries and counting. My next lofty goal is to take a world cruise by the time I am 55. I speak four different languages which is great for connecting with people. Originally from Holland, it's allowed me to travel extensively all over Europe. Nothing makes me happier than creating a trip of a lifetime that makes a traveller's dream come true. After all, travel is the only thing you can spend your money on that makes you richer!

My favourite places

  • Spain and Portugal

In Spain, explore the vibrant cities of Madrid and Salamanca, and the colourful southern region of Andalusia. In Portugal, taste Porto wines, see religious monuments, and enjoy the hilly city of Lisbon. Fascinating, unique, and a delightful mix of contrasts, Spain and Portugal have it all.

  • Antarctica

Spend a night in the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia, Argentina, the capital of Tierra del Fuego. Then, embark on your ship and begin your cruise to Antarctica by sailing along the historic Beagle Channel and the unpredictable Drake Passage.

  • France, Netherlands, & UK

Get to know three of Europe's finest capital cities on this quintessential vacation. Discover pomp and glamor in London, sophistication in Paris, and uniquely Dutch charm in Amsterdam. It's a great way to enjoy Europe's variety in one short trip. I recommend a cheeky few days in Belgium too!

  • Italy

Stay in luxurious hotels and enjoy privately guided and small group experiences in Rome, Florence, and Sorrento. Enter the Vatican Museums before the crowds, get up close and personal with Michelangelo's David, and dine under the stars in Chianti. Then, relax on the unforgettable Amalfi Coast.

Did you know?

  • Don't underestimate distances, even in Europe! Seeing too many countries in too little time can leave you exhausted.
  • Travel is maybe the best education there is. It creates understanding and compassion for other people.
  • Antarctica is warmer than the Arctic. The sun sets in the "East" and the toilet flushes the other way around. Now you know.
  • In the Middle East, strangers may invite you into their home for a meal. You can also lie back and read in the Dead Sea!
