KATHERINE SAMSONKINA

AUSTRALIA & SOUTH PACIFIC

DESTINATION SPECIALIST

I was born in Belarus and took my first overseas trip at 13 years old to India when my dad got a job there. For two years I attended a local school too and eventually I fell in love with this country. We were able to travel around India and learn about every aspect of this magical country. That's when I started to dream about seeing the rest of the world. Fast forward to today and I couldn’t be happier to live in Canada and to have a job that not only allows me to travel to destinations like the South Pacific and Asia but also lets me use my passion, knowledge, and expertise to help clients to create trips of a lifetime.

My favourite places

  • Melbourne

I was fortunate enough to spend a year in Australia and six months in Melbourne. This city is truly everything you could ask for and more. Any activity, food, weather, or sightseeing trip can be found either within the city or just outside. It has been ranked as the most "livable" city in the world!

  • Thailand

I am a big fan of Thai food and you can't get the same taste anywhere else in the world. But the country has so much more to offer! The nightlife, the adventure, the people that you meet along the way, and of course the infinite number of white sand beaches, adventures, and soul/body rejuvenation opportunities.

  • The Islands of Tahiti

Bora Bora is definitely the most beautiful place I have ever been to, and I think Moorea is an underestimated island. There, it is easy to get around and explore the island on your own instead of relying on a group tour. The beaches are dreamy and you can swim with the stingrays and multicolored fish.

  • New Zealand

New Zealand is all about adventure, scenery, and nature. In winter, the mountains are alive with snowboarders and skiers. In spring and summer, adventures range from golf and horseback riding to bungy jumping and surfing. Maori culture is a core part of New Zealand and you will see it everywhere you go.

Did you know?

  • Air New Zealand has a row of Economy seats that can change into a couch after take-off called Skycouch.
  • At Toronto Pearson Airport, you can pre-book your time online to go through security and skip the line.
  • Most airlines require payment for seat selection but you can choose your seat for free 24 hours prior.
  • Australia is about the same size as the continental USA but the population is significantly less than America’s.
