Melbourne Tours, Vacation Packages & Travel Experiences

  • Melbourne skyline early on a summer evening along the Yarra River
  • Flinders Station as seen from Flinders Street is a must visit on all Australia vacations.
  • Parliament House
  • Aussie Rules - the sport of choice in Melbourne
  • Bathing boxes on Brighton Beach

Melbourne, Australia’s second largest city, is stylish and cosmopolitan. It has been voted by The Economist as the “World’s most Livable City”. Part of this is the abundance of parks and gardens. The capital of Victoria, it is situated on an estuary of the Yarra River and boasts world-class culture, sports and dining on an Australia vacation.

Federation Square is the perfect starting point, a major meeting place with its exhibitions, restaurants, bars and shopping. To see Melbourne on trips to Australia from a different perspective, visit the Eureka Skydeck in the Eureka Tower for stunning views of the city’s heritage buildings especially when lit up after dark.

A new development is the restored Docklands where one can enjoy award-winning restaurants and stylish bars and cafes. The city is also known for hosting world-famous events such as the Australian Grand Prix, the Australian Open Tennis and the Melbourne Cup.

For something different, head to St. Kilda’s or Fitzroy, colourful neighbourhoods with characters of their own. St. Kilda’s has its own beachfront and is home to Luna Park, the renowned amusement park.

Outside of Melbourne, one not to be missed excursion on Melbourne tours is to Phillip Island to see the penguin colonies living in their natural habitat. Another is to the Yarra Valley famous for its wineries and rainforests. Other worthwhile places to visit are Ballarat, a small city, once famous as the centre of the gold rush and Geelong, with its beautiful surf beaches and spectacular views of the Great Ocean Road and the unique rock formation, the Twelve Apostles.

What's not to love about Melbourne on Australian tours and at Goway we feel that every itinerary must include one of our Melbourne tours when visiting Australia. C’mon say G’day Downunder. Book one of our Australia vacations today and start exploring!
