This 10-day Zimbabwe vacation takes you to exclusive properties in Hwange National Park and on the Zambezi River near Victoria Falls. It features first-class accommodations and shared game drives.
Your journey begins in the town of Victoria Falls, where you’ll catch your flight into Hwange National Park and Jozibanini Camp, a small and exclusive camp in an untouched stretch of the park’s southwest. Head out on an afternoon game drive that first afternoon before settling into your accommodations that evening. You’ll have two full days of game drives throughout the park known for its semi-arid desert similar to the Kalahari. Hike over sand dunes, ride in safari vehicles, and go mountain biking through the park to spot elephants, lions, and other fascinating wildlife.
From Jozibanini, you’ll head on a full-day game drive before connecting to Bomani Tented Camp, in a private game reserve near Hwange. Enjoy the pristine accommodations and spend two more days on morning and afternoon game drives tailored to your specific interests. Rise at dawn to see predators in the midst of their morning hunt, head out in the afternoon to see elephants bathing in the water hole, or forego the game drive and visit a local village and school to learn about ordinary life near the park.
Leave Hwange National Park behind and board the Elephant Express, a rail car specifically designed for game viewing during your transfer to Chundu Island. Lying on the Zambezi River near Victoria Falls, Chundu Island offers an intimate resort experience, similar to the private islands in the Indian Ocean. Stay in one of eight spacious suites on the island banks and relax in an exclusive location. You’ll have three full days of activities during your time at Chundu Island. Head on a morning game drive into Zambezi National Park, go canoeing on the river, head on a fishing trip, or go for a bushwalk along the river bank. During your time at Chundu, you’ll also have the chance to visit Victoria Falls, the mighty waterfall known as the “smoke that thunders” and one of the largest waterfalls on the planet. Gaze upon the mighty torrents of water pouring off the cliffs and stand in awe of nature.
At the end of your stay, head to the airport for onward travels.

Upon arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport, connect to your light aircraft flight to Libuti Airstrip in Hwange National Park. You will be met upon arrival and transferred to your camp for overnight. Time permitting, enjoy afternoon game viewing activity before sunset.

Jozibanini Camp is situated in the remote south west of Hwange National Park in a wilderness unused for nearly 20 years; only the wildlife and the Parks rangers who look after it frequent this area, once roamed by San people. This is a small, truly exclusive camp in a truly wild place, providing a unique, untamed wilderness experience.
The ecosystem here is semi-desert akin to the Kalahari in neighbouring Botswana. Ancient windblown fossil sand dunes are separated by shallow valleys where elephant paths have compacted the terrain, providing Imvelo with the opportunity for a unique experiment of game viewing by mountain bike. Jozibanini to Bomani Tented Lodge
After breakfast at your camp, board your vehicles and head out on the "pump run" to Bomani. This is actually an extended game drive between the two camps (approx. 6 hours) and includes a stop for a picnic lunch along the way. Enroute, you may also stop to resupply waterholes. Arrive at your camp late afternoon.

Choose to be woken with coffee in bed, before joining your guide on a sunrise game drive inside the Park or, opt for a relaxing lie-in before visiting the nearby village and school for insight into the daily lives of the local people. Our friendly and knowledgeable guides will take you on walks or drives inside this truly wild and remote region of Hwange National Park, famous for its giants, the elephants, and a plethora of other wildlife. Other activities include all day 'pump runs', night drives, the Look Up Hide and transfers into and out of camp on our one of a kind Elephant express rail car. If you are looking for an exciting safari destination - in a remote and exclusive area - with great game viewing all year round, and one that actually makes a difference to the local communities and wildlife.

Today is spent exploring the 5000 acre private reserve and surrounding Hwange National Park. Choose from the many activities included in your stay such as Game drives, night drives, walks on the concession, visits to the look up hide, village visits and tour of a local school (not available during school holidays). There is also an option for Horseback riding (at additional cost).

Hwange to Victoria Falls
After breakfast at your camp, transfer by road to Ngamo Siding to board the Elephant Express for your journey to Dete. This ingeniously rebuilt rail car has re-invented transfers between camps. Enjoy lunch onboard as you travel along the rails next to Hwange National Park. You will be met on arrival at Dete and transferred to your Victoria Falls Hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Victoria Falls
After breakfast this morning, embark on your morning tour of Victoria Falls. Tour the Zimbabwean side, with numerous spectacular vantage points along the width of the Falls, and the sight of this astounding gift of nature, simply takes your breath away. Walk through the permanent, beautifully misty rain forest which flanks the Falls, stopping to marvel at the principal sites as it cascades to the depths below the Main Falls, Horseshoe Falls, Rainbow Falls, the Boiling Pot, Cataract Island and Livingstone Island. We'll stand and watch, feel and listen to the spray and thunderous noise, as millions of litres of water tumble over the Falls into a series of narrow gorges below. The seventh Natural Wonder of the World puts on the most dramatic show for you, and you'll be privileged to have watched it.
This afternoon is at your leisure to partake in any optional excursions you would like or simply relax at your hotel.
