The inspiration for the 2001 anime movie "Spirited Away" Chiufen is a beautifully picturesque town hugging the cliffs of northwest Taiwan, less than an hour's drive from Taipei. Explore the lantern-decorated streets and teahouses, and soak up the nostalgia of this mountainous and often overcast town, which experienced a gold rush in the early 1900s. On your way back to Taipei, you will pass by magnificent Pitou Cape, the rock formations of Nanya, and the Bay of Two Colours (Yinyang Sea).
