Duration
9 Days
Prices From:
US$ 2,355

FIRST-CLASS | PRIVATE-GUIDED: This adventure through the Mayan ruins of Belize and Guatemala will satisfy your cravings for a culturally rich holiday, ending with several sun-filled days on the beaches of beautiful San Pedro.

This 9-day Central American adventure has everything that makes this part of the world so special, including Mayan ruins, fantastic beaches, and the beauty of the local rainforest.

Start your holiday in the Cayo district, exploring one of Belize’s most famous Mayan ruins, Xunantunich. Travel via hand-cranked ferryboat to the ruins deep within the rainforest and enjoy spectacular views from the top of the pyramid if you’re feeling energetic! Roam the expansive ruins of Caracol, then venture into the Rio Frio Cave.

Cross the border into Guatemala and explore the spectacular ruins of Tikal. This famous site, once one of the largest and most wealthy cities in the region, is instantly recognisable with its pyramids towering above the jungle canopy. Explore palaces, steam baths, ceremonial sites and much more, taking time also to enjoy the surrounding rainforest. You might spot howler monkeys, parrots, toucans, ocelots, or even the occasional jaguar. You might even want to climb one of the pyramids for that extra special jungle view.

There’s a reason Madonna’s been dreaming of San Pedro for thirty years. After all your temple hopping, stretch out your tired legs in one of the Caribbean’s best beach destinations. Your time here is at leisure, so spend your time fishing, diving, snorkelling, sail boating, or doing nothing at all as you enjoy the Ambergris Caye.

Table Rock Lodge

Table Rock Jungle Lodge is an eco-lodge in a canopied rainforest setting unlike any other in the Cayo Distict of Belize. With only 10 cabanas on the 105-acre Macal River reserve, you can enjoy the intimate rainforest setting and the sights and sounds of the Belizean jungle. Hike, swim, canoe, birdwatch, or just indulge in serious relaxation. Close to all the major Mayan archaeological sites and natural wonders of Belize, and only 5 miles outside of San Ignacio, Table Rock is the ideal location for your next adventure holiday.

Purchased as only thick jungle and an abandoned farm, Table Rock has been hewn into the rainforest and has continued to develop since the first walking trail was chopped by machete in 2002. The resident American owners, Alan and Colleen, have worked to make Table Rock Jungle Lodge unique by preserving the natural surroundings, utilizing solar power, keeping the number of rooms limited, employing local villagers, and by replenishing one of Belize's earliest natural resources - the Mahogany Tree.

Full Day Tikal Tour with Lunch

Tikal National park is a UNESCO protected site. Huge Mayan temples rise above the jungle canopy and monkeys and tropical birds are abundant in the surrounding rainforest. Tikal is among the world's travel wonders, many calling Tikal one of the most spiritually powerful spots on earth. The monumental site with its towering pyramids looms out of the thick jungle canopy like stoic sentinels of ancient mysteries.

Tikal was once a wealthy metropolis of 100, 000 inhabitants and the seat of power for the great Jaguar clan lords. Today, Tikal attracts archaeologists from all around the globe and the wild-life surrounding the ruins makes it a naturalist's dream.

Your tour takes you through the heart of the more than 3, 000 structures extending over six square miles including palaces, temples, ceremonial platforms, ball courts, terraces, plazas, avenues and steam baths.

The Tikal National Park is not only home to an ancient Mayan City. Screeching howler monkeys and squawking parrots provide nature's soundtrack to all visitors in the area. From monkeys to white lipped peccary, brocket deer, coati-mundis, toucans, scarlet macaws, parrots, ocelots; even the seldom jaguar can occasionally be spotted. Along with many vegetation and spices there is also an abundance of tropical flowers.

After the guided tour you have time to explore on your own, possibly summit one of the tall temples or simply reflect on what was once the grand Mayan civilization.
