Welcome to New England. Upon arrival, we will be met and transferred to our hotel. Tonight we enjoy a Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant.

After breakfast, we transfer to the dock and board a vintagelobster boatand set sail into Casco Bay. We will get great views of the Maine coastline, passing by lighthouses and colorful fall foliage as we go. This is a great opportunity to take photos of the coastline and waters while learning about local nautical history from a knowledgeable Cascoian.

This afternoon, we uncover Portland's culinary scene as we taste our way through the historic Old Port area. You and your fellow food tasters get a chance to try cuisine from several restaurants—be prepared for everything from Italian fare to locally sourced seafood. We will also get an insider’s look at the local food scene, with the opportunity to meet local chefs at some of our stops. The remainder of our day is at leisure.

After breakfast at the hotel, we meet our guide and depart for Bar Harbor. Along the way, stop in the coastal town of Rockport for free time to shop, explore and grab a bite to eat (at your own expense). Continue on to Bar Harbor and check into our hotel. 

This afternoon we immerse ourselves in the food culture of Bar Harbor and Mt. Desert Island. This small island has a bustling food scene, so let us sample the best that downtown Bar Harbor has to offer. We will enjoy some lively commentary about thelocal food and agriculture as we taste.

After breakfast at the hotel, we meet our guide for our walking tour of Bar Harbor. We begin in front of the Abbe Museum on Mount Desert Street. Our local, experienced guide will share highlights and secrets from the Gilded Age, stories of rum-running, and tales of the town folk who influenced the development of Bar Harbor as we wind your way throughout the village. We will stroll along the Shore Path, walk through the burial ground and visit the civil war monument, ending in front of LaRochelle Mansion where the Bar Harbor Historical Society resides. 

Next, transfer to Frenchman Bay to embark on a 2-hour cruise with stunning views of Acadia National Park onboard a sailing ship. Transfer back to our hotel with the remainder of our day at leisure.

After breakfast, we meet our guide and transfer to Boston, stopping in Portland for lunch on route. Upon arrival in Boston, enjoy an introductory tour of the city from the comfort of our coach. Check in to our hotel and enjoy the remainder of our day at leisure.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Travel back in time to colonial New England on a private historic walking tour. Our guide will give us an immersive understanding of life during America’s infancy. Hear exclusive stories about the country’s Founding Fathers and discover iconic historical sites. Visit the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum for a guided tour. 

Next, continue on to the Faneuil Hall Marketplace / Quincy Market to sample lobster rolls, apple cider doughnuts, maple syrups, and more. Learn about the rich food heritage of historic Little Italy as we feast on Italian bread, taste fresh mozzarella at an old-school salumeria and gobble up cannoli. The remainder of our day is at leisure.

After breakfast, our day is free to explore Boston on our own. There is so much or so little to do: visit a museum or art gallery, stroll the historic old town, shop til you drop in all the stores and boutiques. This evening, we all enjoy a farewell dinner cruise along the Boston Harbor.

After breakfast, we transfer to the hotel for our flight home.
