What language is spoken in Turkey?

Turkish is the main language widely spoken throughout Turkey. English is spoken in the main cities such as Istanbul however locals see it as good manners when a visitor makes an effort to speak Turkish.

What currency is used in Turkey?

The Turkish lira (TRY or TL) is the currency used in Turkey. Visa and Mastercard are also accepted however it is recommended to call ahead and advise the credit card company of travel plans to avoid interruptions while on vacation. It is best to have cash on hand for travel to more remote areas. 

Do I need a visa to travel to Turkey?

For Canadian and American citizens who are travelling to Turkey for 90 days or less, an e-Visa is required prior to arrival in Turkey. 

When is the best time to travel to Turkey?

Like most European destinations, the summer months are the most popular but also the hottest. If the purpose of visiting Turkey is to spend time by the beach, the summer months are ideal. For those looking to visit Turkey for sightseeing, visiting in the Spring and Fall months is much better for pleasant temperatures and sightseeing at all the top attractions. 

How is the transportation within Turkey?

There are many forms of transportation in Turkey including buses, taxis, trams and the metro. Many clients prefer to take a domestic flight to get from one city to the next as it can be time efficient and economical.
