In Greece, families are incredibly important. The elderly are a highly respected part of the community and are looked after by the younger generations. When family members and friends greet each other, they usually embrace, however, when people aren’t familiar with each other, they shake hands. The Greek Orthodox Church remains an important part of daily life in the country.
Religion
It is estimated that 90% of the population of Greece identify themselves as Greek Orthodox, with Muslim, Catholic, and Jewish minorities.
Language
Greek is the official language, however, English, French, Italian, and German are spoken to some degree.
