Red Sea Tours, Vacations & Travel Packages
Stretching along the west coast of Saudi Arabia, the Red Sea is one of the warmest and saltiest bodies of water in the world. It’s also going to be one of the most sought-after tourism sites in the nation if Saudi Vision 2030 goes according to plan. Dubbed the Red Sea Project, the government is transforming the stretch of 10,810 square-miles / 28,000 square-kilometres between Al Wajh and Umluj into a world-class beach destination.
As of 2023, travellers can explore the region’s natural wonders, including 90 untouched islands, pristine beaches, nearby sand dunes, volcanoes, and rocky canyons, and the world’s fourth largest barrier reef. They can do so while staying in leading luxury resorts and hotels, which focus on wellness and sustainable tourism practices. The government plans for the region to operate on 100% renewable energy, making it an emblem of the nation’s economic diversification away from oil. By 2030, the plan is to have 50 hotels and resorts with 8,000 rooms to welcome visitors to the gorgeous natural region along one of the world’s most famous waterways.
