Spend a week exploring magical Maui on this first-class trip with car rental included. Check into your hotel on Kaanapali Beach and spend the rest of the day at leisure to relax, shake off any jetlag, and get your bearings. Leave your car for part of the following day to join a small group tour on the magnificent Road to Hana. On the final day of your trip embark on a half-day tour to the Molokini Crater and don your snorkel equipment to meet the inhabitants of this protected marine reserve. Swim alongside Hawaiian green sea turtles or stay high and dry on a glass-bottomed boat.

Day 1

Arrive Maui

On arrival at Kahului Airport, pick up your rental car and drive to your hotel.

The balance of the day is at leisure to relax or begin your explorations of Maui. 

Accommodation:  Aston at the Whaler on Kaanapali Beach

Adjacent to Whalers Village shopping mall, this laid-back beachfront hotel with 2 towers is across the street from Kaanapali Golf Course and 0.4 miles from Kaanapali Parkway.

The tropical-style studios and suites feature private balconies and full kitchens with dishwashers, as well as free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs.

Day 2

Day at Leisure

Check out the other beach areas. Kapalua has its famous PGA golf course, and the drive south covering Kaanapali, Kihei and Wailea is a never-ending mix of beautiful sandy beaches, swaying palm trees and crystal-clear water.

Day 3

Maui: Small-Group Road to Hana Sightseeing Tour

Leave your car today and enjoy unhurried Hawaiian adventure as you travel along the world-famous Road to Hāna. Join a guided small-group tour with lunch and round-trip transportation from your Maui hotel.

Get picked up from your hotel and start your experience with a breakfast of fresh fruit and locally made pastries. Afterwards, follow the coastal road through breathtaking valleys, lush rainforests, and desert-like landscapes.

Learn about Hawaiian culture, history, myths, and legends from your expert guide. Be sure to make the most of the photo opportunities of the waterfalls, cliffs, lush rainforest, and other sights along the route.

Cool off with a swim at one of Hawaii’s unique beaches, and admire the extraordinary white, red, and black sands. You’ll be served a delicious Tahitian BBQ meal for lunch.

After lunch, dive deeper into the island’s culture with visits to the small towns and villages of rural Maui. Meet local people, see tropical fruit farms, and gain an insight into traditional Hawaiian life.

Day at Leisure

After a great day enjoying the Road to Hana, you might want to take it a little slower. Consider a couple of great Maui attractions, such as the Interactive Butterfly Farm or the Maui Ocean Center.

South Maui: Eco-Friendly Molokini and Turtle Town Tour

Discover the underwater worlds of Molokini crater and Turtle Arches on this cruise from Maui. Get instruction on how to snorkel before exploring the reef. Learn about this biodiverse environment from professional naturalists. Eat a delicious breakfast before starting your trip.

Enjoy a continental breakfast including pastries, fruit, and coffee before sailing out to Molokini. Molokini, Maui’s iconic crescent-shaped islet, is a beautiful reef known for its crystal-clear waters, abundant coral, colorful fish, and resting seabirds.

A protected marine conservation area, this volcanic crater is only accessible by boat with a certified tour operator and is the #1 snorkeling destination in Maui. Learn about the history and nature of your surroundings and the efforts being made to protect the ocean here.

Following your time at Molokini, head to Turtle Arches and enjoy a bonus snorkel site with its underwater lava formations and frequent turtle sightings. Watch for sea turtles, eels, octopi, and other reef fish.

Once you are done snorkeling and have worked up an appetite, enjoy a freshly prepared lunch of grilled chicken, burgers, and salad before heading back to Ma'alaea Harbor.

Day at Leisure

You’ve done the beaches, the famous road to Hana and you have a car. Why not go for something entirely different today. Haleakalā National Park is a dormant volcano that offers landscapes that can only be describe as otherworldly. 

Day 7

Day at Leisure

The Iao Valley is beautifully scenic and its mountains are both majestic and dramatic. It’s a Maui gem still flying a bit under the radar. ‘The Needle’ its famous landmark and there are some very short and easy trails making this a worthwhile outing.

Day 8

Depart Maui

Drive to Kahului International Airport and return your car rental before your flight home unless you plan to extend your stay.
