Minnesota Vacations, Tours & Trips

  • Tettegouche State Park, Minnesota

Minnesota lies in the upper Midwestern United States. Its landscape consists of prairies, forests, and over 11,000 bodies of fresh water, giving the state the moniker of “Land of 10,000 Lakes.” Inhabited by indigenous peoples since the 11th century BCE, Minnesota is considered part of the American frontier, attracting settlers and homesteaders from across the country and the world. The state’s portion of Lake Superior is the largest and deepest and the Mississippi River begins its journey from its headwaters at Lake Itasca. Saint Paul, in east-central Minnesota along the banks of the Mississippi River, is the capital city and is adjacent to its “Twin City,” the populous Minneapolis. Tourism is an important industry, especially in the beautiful Lake region.

  • Rhythms of the River Minneapolis to New Orleans

MODERATE | SELF DRIVE: A trip along a fascinating route down south to New Orleans, full of fabulous landscapes, wonderful local culinary experiences, and plenty of history. But it’s the final layer that makes this trip very special: music. Prince and Elvis figure in Minneapolis and Memphis, respectively, while Nashville and New Orleans are, naturally, prominently featured. But it’s places like Clarksdale, Cleveland, and Natchez along the Mississippi Blues Trail, that will strike a special chord.
