Overview
Take a trip to Luxor on your Egypt Vacation
Located in southern Egypt, present-day Luxor was the site of the ancient city of Thebes, the great capital of Egypt during the New Kingdom. Originally a town, Thebes grew into a thriving city that was a centre for wisdom, art, religion and politics, all to be experienced on Egypt tours.
Modern-day Luxor offers an interesting combination of past and present trips to Egypt. The city can be divided into three parts: the modern city centre with restaurants, cafes and busy bazaars, the village of Karnak to the north and then the ancient remains of Thebes on the west bank of the Nile. The city has often been referred to as “the world’s greatest open-air museum” as the ruins of ancient temple complexes of Karnak and Luxor are found within the city on Luxor tours.

Egypt is modern and cosmopolitan, yet still rooted in a culture of hospitality. Whether sipping tea with locals or exploring sacred sites, you will find that human connections are as memorable as the monuments themselves
The ancient monuments carry an extraordinary historical significance and relevance. You feel it the moment you are there!
Be prepared for a modest society. Both men and women generally cover their shoulders and knees, and visitors should do the same out of respect.
November to April is the most pleasant weather-wise, while summer can be sweltering with many days over 45 degrees Celsius (about 113 degrees Fahrenheit).
For Egypt's biggest draw, the people have to be on top, but the culture and history are not far behind. It’s a destination where warm hospitality pairs with awe-inspiring history to create an experience like no other.
