Take a trip to the Valley of the Kings on your Egypt Vacation
The Valley of the Kings is famous as the burial site of almost all the pharaohs of the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties. The Ancient Egyptians chose the West Bank of the Nile River as the burial site with the belief that the setting of the sun in the west represented the death of the sun god Ra.
The burial ground has 65 tombs, 63 of which belong to members of the royal family. The tomb of Ramesses V and VI has hallways, a massive burial chamber, and a vaulted astronomical ceiling featuring Goddess Nut swallowing Ra. The Tomb of Seti I is one of the deepest and most colourful tombs in the Valley of the Kings. King Tutankhamun's tomb is the smallest of the tombs but contains the largest collection of artifacts of any tomb in the valley, many of which are displayed in the Egyptian Museum. On a main (entry) ticket, you can choose three tombs from a list of open tombs. If visiting in summer, pack plenty of water and sunscreen as temperatures can cross 90°F.

Our only criticism is that they do not break down the various costs of a trip which makes tipping very awkward. It can also create a sense of " mistrust" when all the costs are not transparent. Goway hires a local tour group, Jenman Safaris, to lead the safari in the 2 countries. The tour itself was amazing...the lodges that we stayed at were very nice and the food was great (except for one lodge's food). The Goway itinerary was slightly different than the actual Jenman Safari itinerary but most of the sites that we went to were the same as listed on the Goway itinerary.
