Take a trip to Arenal on your Costa Rica Vacation
The Arenal Volcano National Park is one of the most scenic parts of Costa Rica. It is situated in the northwest of the country and easily accessible from San Jose. The main feature of the park on Costa Rica tours is the tall and imposing active volcano with its very large crater and which is perfectly symmetrically shaped. It last erupted in 1968 after centuries of being dormant. Explosions are now rare.
The park has many other scenic attractions with its hot springs, rainforests and waterfalls. For the active on a Costa Rica vacation, one can go hiking, fishing and horse riding as well as rappelling down into the canyons.
