Take a trip to Tikal on your Guatemala Vacation
The ancient Mayan ruins of Tikal resting in the El Peten department of northern Guatemala are one of the most popular sites to visit in Guatemala and one of the world’s most captivating archaeological sites. Walking through the network of causeways connecting limestone pyramids, temples, palaces, and public squares of Tikal will take you on an unforgettable exploration of Yax Mutal, a major pre-Columbian political, economic, and military city centre. The sounds of howler monkeys, foxes, exotic birds, and other wildlife from the Maya Forest will beckon you to explore the over 57,000 hectares of Tikal National Park, scattered with thousands of architectural artistic remains of the local ancient Mayan civilization.
The magnificence of the architectural wonder and surrounding natural beauty of Tikal brings globetrotters into the ancient Mayan world and rivals that of other iconic indigenous sites around the world, including Machu Picchu in Peru and Chichén Itzá in Mexico. Tikal is a profound natural treasure flowing with history, offering a rare glimpse into the ancient Mayan civilization and the Guatemalan rainforests that cradle it. Star Wars fans will also recognize the ruins as the Yavin 4 rebel base from the iconic film A New Hope.

The Festes Majors are summer festivals held in the villages of Andorra. Each festival is unique to the village, with its own distinct style.
The Pyrenean Mountain scenery and tax-free shopping are two of my favourite things about travelling to Andorra.
I love learning about Nicaragua's culture and experiencing its Spanish influence in some cities. I was only there for five days, but I'll never forget how delicious the food was and how welcoming and extremely polite the people were.
Nicaragua is well known for its dramatic volcanic landscapes, lakes, rainforests, and colonial cities. I love how friendly the people are and how delicious the food is! There is always something fun to do in Nicaragua!
Festival de Los Farolitos is an annual nighttime festival held every September in the town of Ataco, where the streets, houses, and plazas are illuminated with thousands of handmade lanterns (farolitos). Families craft them using colored paper, wood, calabash gourds, or jars, each with a candle inside. Although it's tied to the eve of the Virgin Mary’s birthday, it has evolved into a cultural celebration of community, light, creativity, and town pride.
