Overview
Take a trip to Trogir on your Croatia Vacation
Trogir is an absolute delight and beautiful to behold when on a Croatia Vacation. The town is situated on an island off the Adriatic coast not far from Split. Its entire centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
To sum up Trogir, it is a historic, well-preserved town with architecture influenced by the Greeks, Romans and Venetians. It is the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex in Central Europe with a high concentration of palaces, churches and towers. The medieval core of Trogir is surrounded by city walls which are tiny medieval streets to explore the essence of the town. Some of the highlights are the Fortress Kamerlengo, a combination of castle and fortress built in the 15th Century, the St. Lawrence Cathedral, Trogir’s grandest building with its bell tower and the Duke's Palace which contains the 15th Century Town Museum.
And that is not all that Trogir has to offer on a Croatia vacation package. There are stunning beaches and a number of small islands off the coast of the town also with excellent beaches. The port of Trogir is also delightful with its many bobbing sailboats moored there.

One of the most memorable traditions travellers should experience in Croatia is the Sinjska Alka. Held every August in the town of Sinj, near Split, it’s a centuries-old knights’ tournament where horsemen in traditional uniforms gallop at full speed trying to spear a small iron ring (“alka”) with their lances
One common misconception travellers have about Croatia is that it’s only about Dubrovnik and the Dalmatian coast. Inland regions like Zagreb, Istria, and Slavonia offer wine routes, truffle hunting, castles, and cultural festivals. Nature is also often overlooked. Beyond the famous Plitvice Lakes, there are mountains for hiking, rivers for rafting, and even thermal spas.
In early fall, the sea is still warm from the summer heat, making it perfect for swimming. Fall is also grape and truffle harvest season, which is ideal for food and wine lovers.
Imagine wine tasting in Brač, where wine is aged underwater among coral, and you can dive to select your bottle!
