Must-See Attractions in Czechia

For those seeking must-see things in Czechia, start your journey in Prague. Dubbed the "City of a Hundred Spires," its architectural grandeur and historic lore make it a never-miss destination. Wander through the Old Town Square, and let the striking Gothic spires of the Church of Our Lady Before Týn leave you spellbound. Don't miss the Astronomical Clock, a medieval marvel that comes alive with a harmonic performance every hour.

Just outside of Prague, the stunning Karlštejn Castle stands as a testament to the grandeur of the Holy Roman Empire. Its picturesque landscape offers a peaceful retreat into history. Further south, the quaint town of Český Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, beckons with its winding alleys and Renaissance architecture.

Engaging Cultural Experiences

No visit to Czechia is complete without delving into its vibrant cultural offerings. The Czech people have honed the art of puppetry over centuries, an experience brought vividly to life in marionette theatres across the country. Additionally, be sure to immerse yourself in the lively folk music and dance traditions that echo in festivals held throughout the year.

Beer lovers will find solace in Czechia's storied brewing history, with Pilsen being the birthplace of the world-famous Pilsner lager. Embark on a guided tour of the Pilsner Urquell Brewery to appreciate the craft behind their iconic brew. Alternatively, the Moravian wine region offers an exquisite experience for oenophiles with its idyllic vineyards and annual wine festivals.

Practical Travel Tips for Your Czech Adventure

  • Transport: Czechia boasts a network of efficient rail and bus services, ideal for venturing from vibrant cities to serene landscapes. Consider the scenic train routes that connect Prague with other charming localities.

  • Money: The Czech koruna is the local currency, and although credit cards are commonly accepted, having some cash on hand for smaller establishments is advisable.

Delightful Culinary Adventures

Czech cuisine is a smorgasbord of hearty flavors and rich textures. Indulge in traditional delights like svíčková, a tender beef steak marinated in a creamy vegetable sauce, or the ubiquitous delight of smažený sýr, a fried cheese treat perfect for street snack lovers.

Wind down with a plate of trdelník, a sweet pastry sprinkled with sugar and walnut, often served warm and perfect for a stroll through a Czech Christmas market.

Prague and the surrounding Bohemian lands were significantly influenced by Austria’s Habsburg dynasty. There are several medieval gems in the country but Prague is the true pinnacle. It's an incredible city with so much culture and history

I love how well preserved the historical towns are. Many escaped the ravages of war and still have their original architecture, creating a dreamy, fairy-tale-like landscape of impressive castles and winding cobblestone streets

Spa culture in the Czech Republic dates back to the 14th century and many towns preserve their old-world architecture, giving you a serene and picturesque setting. My top picks include Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně and Františkovy Lázně.

We had a blast and felt covered by GoAway throughout. This was our first time using a travel agent and Melissa and her team made it easy. I also appreciated the quick communication while on our trip. I only wish that we got our official itinerary and tickets sooner as we did not receive them until a week prior. But it is busy season so I understand. Courtney McCarthy

Our trip to Japan was great. All our Goway arrangements preformed like clockwork and the guides for the tours were wonderful. Unfortunately, Mt. Fuji was in total fog but at least the lunch was very good and so was the drum solo, also our tour guide kept our spirits up ( she was the best). Taryn picked hotels that were very convenient to the meeting point of our tours which was much appreciated and organized all aspects of our trip perfectly. So from our airport pickup to our last day in Tokyo everything ran very smoothly so we have used Goway before and will certainly use it again and reccommend Goway to others.JW
