Explore the icefjords of Ilulissat on a trip to Greenland.

Ilulissat is Greenland’s third-largest settlement, with a popular of just under 5,000. Located 350 km (220 mi) north of the Arctic Circle, the town is the northern base for exploring Greenland, although it’s located along the central western coast of the nation. Historically, Ilulissat was founded as a trading post in 1741 and is the birthplace of notable explorers, including Knud Rasmussen and Jorgen Bronlund.

The town’s primary appeal is its proximity to the Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and arguably the top tourism landmark in the nation. Tour the fjord to watch mammoth icebergs float by in the current, produced by one of the largest glaciers in the northern hemisphere. It’s fitting that icebergs dominate tourism here as ilulissat is the Kalaallisut word for icebergs. The town is also a great base for whale watching, scenic flights, and kayaking in the warmer summer months.

Did you know that Mongolia is the most sparsely populated country in the world? The number of horses is actually higher than the number of people. Mongolia is also home to several unique animals, like the snow leopard. You should also know that the Gobi Desert is the second-largest desert in Asia and the sixth-largest in the world.

I love Mongolia's vast, untouched landscapes, nomadic culture, and rich history. Mongolia's low population provides a sense of solitude and peace not found in most other countries.

The Naadam Festival that takes place across the country on select dates in July is a must-see experience. This festival is one of the primary reasons travelers go to Mongolia and makes for the Summer months being the peak season for travel.

I love Malaysia's delicious food. The country is also incredibly affordable, and visitors' easy access to public transit is a great way for them to experience local life.
