Take a trip to Riga on your Latvia Vacation
The crown jewel of the Baltic States, Riga is perched on the banks of the majestic Daugava River, inviting globetrotters to explore its historic Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on the west bank while simultaneously welcoming them to discover its more modern neighbourhoods on the east bank.Â
Marked by the scars of World War II, Riga has since repaired and transformed itself into a story of resilience and restoration. Strolling through its cobblestone streets, you'll find yourself immersed in a bygone era, with winding alleys revealing the charm of 19th-century wooden architecture and the world's most extensive collection of Art Nouveau buildings. The city's east bank boasts two more hidden treasures: Agenskalns and Tornakalns, picturesque districts with elegant 18th and 19th-century structures enclosed amidst serene parks and gardens.Â
Riga's architectural splendour extends to its iconic landmarks. The Riga Dome Cathedral, a colossal structure, houses a magnificent 6,768-pipe organ, while St. Peter's Church, with roots dating back to 1209, offers panoramic views from its towering spire. The House of Blackheads, a historic Guild House dating to 1334, harbours a wine cellar tucked away in its basement. The Wagner Concert Hall pays homage to the famed composer Richard Wagner, who called Riga home for several years. The Three Brothers, a trio of impeccably preserved 15th-century houses, offer a glimpse into the city's medieval past.Â

You should try a Zen meditation session. Imagine slipping into a silk kimono for the day—carefully tied by an expert dresser, every fold precise, every colour chosen to suit the season. It’s a ritual that feels as personal as it is timeless.
What do I love about Japan? In a word - EVERYTHING. The incredible contrast that Japan offers - new/innovative vs old/traditional, the warm and welcoming people, the incredible rich culture, the culinary wonders awaiting around every corner, the cleanliness, efficiency and safety. It's one of the best places to visit in Asia in my opinion.
Pub Street in Siem Reap, Cambodia, is a local favourite with very inexpensive drinks. It's also a great place to try the local delicacy, BBQ frog.
I love how laidback and relaxed Laos is compared to other countries in Southeast Asia. It's like the best of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand all rolled into one, and then sent back in time 20 to 30 years.
The Festes Majors are summer festivals held in the villages of Andorra. Each festival is unique to the village, with its own distinct style.
