Overview
Take a trip to Vilnius on your Lithuania Vacation
Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania and its largest city, boasts several historical and architectural wonders. The city's Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a maze of discovery with 70 winding streets, alleys, and 1500 well-preserved buildings showcasing a captivating blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture.
Journey through time and Lithuanian culture and visit renowned landmarks like the Gediminas Castle, also known as the Upper Castle, dating back to the 9th century with unrivalled city views. Effortlessly ascend the hill on the funicular railway and discover archaeological artifacts within the Upper Castle Tower that shed light on Vilnius' past. The Royal Palace, or the Lower Castle, represents Baroque luxury and was once the regal residence of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Vilnius Cathedral, founded in 1250, stands as an iconic city symbol, with crypts holding historical secrets and the adjacent Cathedral Square, a vibrant meeting point featuring a 16th-century bell tower.
One of Vilnius' distinctive quirks is the Street of Writers, with evocative artworks and tributes to literary icons, including Nobel laureate Czesław Miłosz, the celebrated poet Adam Mickiewicz, and the revered Lithuanian writer Jonas Biliūnas. Encounter creative expressions that pay homage to the written word, making it a unique and memorable exploration.

The Festes Majors are summer festivals held in the villages of Andorra. Each festival is unique to the village, with its own distinct style.
The Pyrenean Mountain scenery and tax-free shopping are two of my favourite things about travelling to Andorra.
I love learning about Nicaragua's culture and experiencing its Spanish influence in some cities. I was only there for five days, but I'll never forget how delicious the food was and how welcoming and extremely polite the people were.
The Day of the Dead in Guatemala is a great local tradition where people gather to fly giant, intricately decorated kites to honour the dead.
The colourful Spanish architecture, the beautiful scenery, particularly the stunning lakes, and the Mayan ruins are what I love most about Guatemala!
