Important things to know

It is a good idea to research local currencies, exchange rates, and the availability of ATMs. We recommend carrying some local currency for small expenses as credit cards may not be accepted everywhere.

Respect local customs and traditions. In many Indian Ocean countries, modest clothing is appreciated, and certain behaviours may differ from what you're accustomed to. While English is widely spoken in many tourist areas, learning a few local phrases can enhance your experience and interactions with locals.

The Indian Ocean region spans multiple time zones. Be mindful of time differences, especially if your itinerary involves moving between countries.

Being well-prepared ensures a smoother and more enjoyable travel experience in the diverse and enchanting destinations of the Indian Ocean.

Is it safe to travel

Travel safety in the Indian Ocean region varies by country and specific destinations. Generally, popular tourist spots like the Maldives, Seychelles, and Mauritius are considered safe for visitors. However, it's crucial to stay updated on travel advisories, follow local guidelines, and be aware of specific conditions in each location.

Checking government travel advisories, understanding the local customs, and taking standard safety precautions contribute to a safer travel experience. Always prioritize your well-being and stay informed about the current situation in the specific areas you plan to visit.

You should try a Zen meditation session. Imagine slipping into a silk kimono for the day—carefully tied by an expert dresser, every fold precise, every colour chosen to suit the season. It’s a ritual that feels as personal as it is timeless.

What do I love about Japan? In a word - EVERYTHING. The incredible contrast that Japan offers - new/innovative vs old/traditional, the warm and welcoming people, the incredible rich culture, the culinary wonders awaiting around every corner, the cleanliness, efficiency and safety. It's one of the best places to visit in Asia in my opinion.

Pub Street in Siem Reap, Cambodia, is a local favourite with very inexpensive drinks. It's also a great place to try the local delicacy, BBQ frog.

I love how laidback and relaxed Laos is compared to other countries in Southeast Asia. It's like the best of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand all rolled into one, and then sent back in time 20 to 30 years.

I recently went on an African Safari with my brother-in-law and sister and another couple who I knew. The entire experience was absolutely unbelievable. The complete details were flawlessly coordinated from the transfers to the breathtaking lodges. Our guides Peter showed us Kenya and Maulid Tanzania were very knowledgeable and very sharp eyes for finding the animals. We were able to see the animals up close, learn a lot about the people, birds , vegetation etc. We had several sundowners in the bush really added to a magical experience with beautiful sunsets. I would highly recommend Goway to all my friends, they will not be disappointed. Thank you to Bijal for the excellent African Safari that you put together for us. You were wonderful.Nancy Hay

We had a blast and felt covered by GoAway throughout. This was our first time using a travel agent and Melissa and her team made it easy. I also appreciated the quick communication while on our trip. I only wish that we got our official itinerary and tickets sooner as we did not receive them until a week prior. But it is busy season so I understand. Courtney McCarthy

Our trip to Japan was great. All our Goway arrangements preformed like clockwork and the guides for the tours were wonderful. Unfortunately, Mt. Fuji was in total fog but at least the lunch was very good and so was the drum solo, also our tour guide kept our spirits up ( she was the best). Taryn picked hotels that were very convenient to the meeting point of our tours which was much appreciated and organized all aspects of our trip perfectly. So from our airport pickup to our last day in Tokyo everything ran very smoothly so we have used Goway before and will certainly use it again and reccommend Goway to others.JW
