Exploring Dubai's Wonders

Dubai, the gleaming gem of the UAE, is a city known for its audacious architecture and extraordinary attractions. Start your adventure in the iconic Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. As you gaze from its observatory, you'll marvel at the futuristic cityscape sprawling below. But Dubai is more than its mesmerizing skyline. Dive into the enchanting labyrinth of the Gold and Spice Souks, where the air is perfumed with aromas and the surroundings echo the tales of traders from centuries past.

For those craving thrills, venture into the desert for a safari filled with exhilarating activities like dune bashing and sandboarding. As dusk settles, partake in a traditional Bedouin-style dinner under the stars, an experience that immerses you in the heart of Emirati culture.

Abu Dhabi's Cultural Riches

As the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi is home to some of the nation's most treasured cultural sites. The majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque stands as a testament to architectural brilliance, with its luminous white domes and intricate mosaics. Visit the Louvre Abu Dhabi for a journey through history and art, where collections span from ancient civilizations to contemporary masterpieces.

A visit to Abu Dhabi isn't complete without a stroll along the Corniche, a beautifully maintained waterfront stretching across the city. Watch as families and friends gather along the beaches, enjoying the sun, fun, and vibrant ambiance of this coastal wonder.

Sharjah: Cultural Capital

Recognized as the cultural heart of the UAE, Sharjah offers a unique insight into the region’s rich heritage. Explore the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, where timeless artifacts and rare manuscripts offer glimpses into the Islamic world. The Heart of Sharjah project, an ongoing restoration of the city’s old town, is a must-visit for those yearning to experience traditional Arabian life.

Scenic Getaways in the Northern Emirates

Escape the urban bustle and venture to the UAE’s lesser-known emirates like Fujairah, where the Al Hajar Mountains promise breathtaking hiking trails and dramatic landscapes. Explore the Al Bidya Mosque, the country's oldest, nestled amid these natural wonders.

In Ras Al Khaimah, history buffs can explore the Dhayah Fort, offering not only a glimpse into the country's military past but also stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. The emirate's serene beaches and luxurious resorts make it the perfect spot for relaxation.

Delightful Emirati Cuisine

No journey is complete without indulging in the local culinary delights. Savor traditional dishes like machboos, slow-cooked meat or fish with fragrant spices and rice, or luqaimat, delicious sweet dumplings drizzled with date syrup. Enjoy authentic dining experiences at local eateries or extravagant meals at high-end restaurants that showcase the finest Middle Eastern hospitality.

The UAE, with its diverse offerings, seamlessly blends modernity with tradition, providing an unparalleled travel experience. Whether you're an adventurer, a culturist, or a culinary enthusiast, the UAE invites you to explore its myriad wonders. For me, the best months are November to April. Anything in between that is too unbearably hot. Temperatures commonly reaching 50 degrees and higher are so unpleasant and even in Dubai, the little bit of humidity can make them dangerous. This is why even bus shelters on the streets are air conditioned, and very few people are actually outside during the daylight hours.

Directly opposite of Dubai, on the eastern Golf of Oman, in the Emirate of Sharjah, lies Khor Fakkan. This beautiful little gem has mountains, clear blue water with white sand beaches and coral reefs. Shark Island, right off the Coast of Khor Fakkan, has some of the best snorkeling in the UAE.

For that Instagram shot, nothing beats the symbol for the Emirates that is the Burj al Arab hotel in Dubai. This is generally one of the most asked after spots, and where people can get the best photos. In reality, from the ground it is lovely, however, photos from the air on a helicopter pass show just how amazing this structure is and the effort that went into the world's only 7 Star hotel.

I always recommend that people go to the Camel races on Fridays, at Al Mormoon Race Track. Over the start line, there is a overhead walkway where you can watch the camels line up for their heats. As there is no gambling in the UAE, here the winners are the camels rather than the owners, and the camels are awarded the gifts.
