Take a trip to Pantanal on your Brazil Vacation
Located primarily in Brazil, the Pantanal UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, one of the world’s largest tropical wetland areas, also expands into parts of Bolivia and Paraguay. While the Amazon is more famous than Pantanal, the wide open spaces of the wetland provide better opportunities for wildlife viewing on a Brazil vacation package.
Pantanal is twenty times the size of the Florida Everglades and is a sanctuary for wildlife. The various watering holes and grasslands are thought to host over 600 bird species, 400 fish, 300 mammals and 480 reptile species. Many endangered species call Pantanal home including a healthy and relatively large jaguar population. There are two protected areas located in Pantanal: Pantanal Matogrossense National Park established in September 1981 and SESC Pantanal Private Natural Heritage Reserve established in 1998.
With few people and no towns, most transport in Pantanal is done by boat or small planes. Fishing is a popular attraction and enthusiasts come from around the world to fish the river systems and take part in the annual International Fishing Festival. Boat trips and safaris (on foot and horseback) are some of the best ways to experience the immense wildlife available in Pantanal. Visitors on Brazil tours will be able to see rare marsh deers and giant river otters, various waterbirds, hyacinth macaws, caiman, giant anteaters and more making it a must-see destination for nature lovers travelling to Brazil.

Brazil is great to visit all year round, but December to March is ideal for experiencing the vibrant summer energy and major events like Carnaval. For those who want to search for wildlife in the Amazon & Pantanal, I would suggest April to October

Our experience in Peru was very positive. Denise WatkinsI booked this trip to Adelaide with Goway, after using them before when we explored the 'big' sites of Australia. This time, we went to Adelaide to go to three of the top wine growing areas for wine tastings. We were a small group of 4 people. It was made better as the vendor used Small Batch Wine Tours for all of our excursions. They were fantastic making us the only travelers on these tours. Matthew, the owner, even adjusted our wineries on the last day to go to different place. This place totally marked off everything we were looking for in wine. Ended up buying a couple of bottles.
