5 Reasons to Plan a Fiji Vacation This Year

Tell me more

Fiji is a beautiful nation, one blessed with the warm waters and weather of the South Pacific. Its blissful natural environment and comfortable and friendly resorts offer the perfect set-up for relaxation, romance, or adventure.

It doesn’t take much to want to go to Fiji. All you need to see is an image of the white-sand beaches lined with coconut palms or hear the sound of the waves lapping the shoreline to understand what makes a Fiji vacation so special. But maybe you want to know more? If you do, you’re in luck.

We’ve returned to Fiji in recent months and have fresh insights for travellers who want to plan a beach vacation or romantic escape. Drawing on the personal insight of our experts, we’ve put together some of the key reasons to plan a Fiji vacation for this year. If you want to learn more about Goway’s travel packages to Fiji, please browse our website. And keep reading to learn the specific reasons that make a Fiji vacation so appealing.

Why should you plan a Fiji vacation for this year?

1. Fiji Is Affordable & Easy to Get To

Fiji overwater bungalows

Fiji invites you to experience the finest in Polynesian hospitality. There’s a wide variety of accessibility across the properties in the Fijian islands, meaning you can book your dream South Pacific vacation without any hassle. Fiji is also surprisingly affordable. There are a wide range of accommodation options for travellers, meaning you’ll find something for your budget. Getting there is also a pleasure, as Fiji Airways offers wonderful service with their new Airbus A350 from Los Angeles. The aircraft has vertical walls and high ceilings, giving the impression you’re in a room opposed to an aircraft. The service onboard the flight is second-to-none.

2. Fijian Hospitality Is Genuinely Welcoming

When you set foot on the Fijian islands, you’ll be welcomed with wide smiles and the ubiquitous “bula” (Fijian for “hello”) everywhere you go. People here are friendly, and it’s not just a show. We noticed, as did our travel partners who’ve returned over the past few months, that Fiji is one of the friendliest destinations we’ve ever visited. The hospitality is sincere and genuinely welcoming. Whether you stay on Viti Levu or choose to visit one of the numerous little islands across the archipelago, you’ll enjoy a hearty welcome as well as access to some of the world’s finest beaches.

You’ll also find an accommodation that suits your travel style and needs. Work with your Goway Destination Specialist or your trusted travel advisor to book a stay that suits you. There are renowned brands that you’ll recognize from back home, as well as boutique local properties that offer seamless travel experiences overlooking picture-perfect lagoons. We work hard to ensure our resort collection features the best in Fijian splendour. Our Fijian properties also cater to families. They keep your little ones or tweens occupied with fun activity programs while you sip cocktails on the beach or head on scuba diving excursions.

Our activity and excursion options take advantage of the islands’ natural beauty. If you stay on Viti Levu, we recommend a day trip to one of the nearby private islands for a sun-soaked day at a beach club. If you’re after a good party, we can also arrange a visit to a bar floating in the middle of the Pacific. Just imagine the Instagram pics!

3. Fiji Is Perfect for Romantic Getaways

With its picturesque beachside environments and pampering resorts, it’s no surprise Fiji is the perfect romantic destination for couples and honeymooners. Your romantic getaway in paradise can be as leisurely or active as you desire. You can spend your days kicking back on the powder-soft beaches and tuning into the sound of the waves and the humming of palm trees rustling in the warm ocean breeze. You can take to the water and enjoy a wide variety of aquatic activities, including snorkelling, sailing with a hobie cat, and even jet skiing. You can also go for long, relaxing walks along the shoreline before retiring to the pampering and intimate resort accommodations.

4. Fiji Is Home to an Underwater Wonderland

If you’ve ever wanted to explore beneath the waves, you’re in luck in Fiji. The country is a haven for scuba divers and snorkellers. Many of our featured resorts have an on-site marine biologist, making Fiji a great place to explore and learn about the waters of the South Pacific. In fact, you may be lucky enough to enjoy an ocean safari without even getting wet. If you stay in an overwater bungalow, you can watch schools of exotic tropical fish, sharks, stingrays, and turtles right from your deck. You can also head to a local jetty to enjoy the great views of the waters.

There are daily opportunities for scuba diving and snorkelling adventures. Keen divers will be happy to explore the superb reefs surrounding the islands. If you’re not yet PADI certified, there’s nothing to worry about. Most of our hotels offer 3-day certification programs and online training prior to your arrival, which means that you will be ready to take your first dive in no time. Rely on our Goway Destination Specialists to guide you through the process.

5. Fiji Is a Verdant Paradise

Traditional Fijian bures

Fiji isn’t only about the sand and sun. It’s also a place for jungle adventures and cultural encounters. Head inland to hike through pristine rainforest and alongside waterfalls. You can even enjoy rafting adventures along the rivers. You can also visit the local communities to get in touch with locals and witness the rhythms of Fijian life firsthand. After all, it’s the friendliness and warmth of the Fijians that makes a visit so unforgettable.

There’s no better place to relax after the stress of the past two years than Fiji. Get in touch with your Goway Destination Specialist today to start planning your perfect holiday in the South Pacific.

For first-time visitors, I suggest splitting their stay to experience a few nights at a resort along the Coral Coast, where they could experience a visit to a local village, then end their trip at one of the islands in the Mamanucas to experience some different beaches and activities. For returning visitors, I recommend exploring a different group of islands, such as heading to one of the Northern Islands, which is a short flight from Nadi.

We went on a highly customized comprehensive (though quick tour) of England and a bit of Scotland through Goway. Ingrid Aird did an amazing job of planning and arranging every detail with her deep experience, insight, thoughtfulness and creativity, tuning into the needs of each traveler; and she did so even though our decision to travel was rather spontaneous and last minute! Our family had the best time! We look forward to working with Ingrid and Goway again!Vilja Breiling

I can't tell you enough how much I love to work with Callie. She is a life saver and I love how attentive she is. Every time I give her an itinerary for a client- she really knocks it out of the park with the proposal. If there are any issues- she is on it right away. Her work ethic is outstanding.Michelle Labarca

We were trying to navigate Swiss Travel Center to book a 10 day train trip through Switzerland. It was exactly what we wanted but navigating their site was extremely difficult for us. Goway Travel picked up on our plight and put us in contact with Jacqueline Fagooli, one of their agents. From there on everything was so smooth. Their efficiency, communication, and thoroughness were beyond our expectations. The trip was fabulous and kudos to Jacqueline and Goway for their help in making it so.Carolyn McCormack

The destination specialist I've worked with (Kim Rawlings) has provided exceptional service. She is very knowledgeable of her region and everything they have to offer. She is very prompt in her communication and follow-up. She listens and is very attentive to my client's needs and wants. Kim's personality makes one feel like they've known each other for years. If GoWay had a customer service model, Kim is it.T. Jackson, Tribe Trek Travel
