Overview
Take a trip to Nadi on your Fiji Vacation
The city of Nadi is the third largest city in Fiji and is located on the western side of the main island of Viti Levu. It is an important departure point on Fiji vacations for the outer island groups such as Mamanuca and Yasawa usually reached by ferry.
Nadi is a lively place with a busy market area and crowded streets. It derives some of its character from the mix of Fijians and Indians who cohabit here. The downtown area stretches 1 km/half a mile along and is filled with shopping and dining possibilities on a Fiji vacation.
Some local sightseeing ideas on Nadi tours include the Nadi Garden of the Sleeping Giant which houses many beautiful plants including orchids and has pleasant walking trails, Wailoaloa Beach, a kilometre/half a mile long and the colourful Hindu Temple, the largest in the Pacific. Nadi town also has some bustling markets offering handicrafts, fruit and produce and musical instruments.

For first-time visitors, I suggest splitting their stay to experience a few nights at a resort along the Coral Coast, where they could experience a visit to a local village, then end their trip at one of the islands in the Mamanucas to experience some different beaches and activities. For returning visitors, I recommend exploring a different group of islands, such as heading to one of the Northern Islands, which is a short flight from Nadi.
