Set off on a safari experience and explore the volcano's internal crater and incredible landscapes. Visit a pineapple plantation, Moorea's Lycee Agricole (agricultural school) and its huge vanilla, banana, grapefruit and lemon plantations to name but a few. Then head to a marae before driving to the Belvedere for stunning views of Cook and Opunohu bays. The final stop will be the Magic Mountain. You will reach the top by following a little path lined with fruit trees. Up there, you will enjoy one of the most amazing view of the island of Moorea. After returning to the resort, spend the remainder of the day enjoying complimentary activities such as snorkeling in the lagoon, walking the overwater boardwalks, or participating in environmental and coral conservation programs that are occasionally offered on-site. This was a self drive trip, and as has been our experience with GoWay, we were permitted to customize the standard offered itinerary to suit our personal preferences. Brooke, our agent on this trip, went the extra mile to make all the adjustments we requested, including providing for an English-speaking guide at the Phaistos archeological site. The hotels which Brooke booked on our behalf were truly excellent, and - again, per our wish - just outside of the urban chaos of Heraklion, Rethymno and Chania, but close enough to readily access the cities' benefits. Each hotel was a beachside sanctuary, and we spent several serene, idyllic days never leaving the hotel, and yet there was plenty of time for more distant and adventurous sight seeing.
