Traverse through the lush highlands, where panoramic views reward those who take the road less travelled. Alternatively, if you prefer aquatic adventures, the pristine waters of the Coral Triangle offer some of the best diving experiences imaginable. Swim amongst vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life in places like Rabaul and Milne Bay, where underwater exploration takes on a new level of awe.

Cultural Riches and Traditional Experiences

Stepping into Papua New Guinea is like stepping back in time, where traditional customs and lifestyles flourish. Engage with local tribes in the Highlands to discover their unique ways of living. Witness the legendary Asaro Mudmen of Goroka, whose dramatic clay masks and haunting dances are integral to their cultural expression. Every year, the Highlands host vibrant cultural festivals, such as the Mount Hagen Cultural Show, where tribes from across the country gather in a spectacle of song, dance, and traditional attire. These events provide an authentic insight into the diverse cultures that define Papua New Guinea.

Culinary Adventures in the Heart of Nature

Beyond landscapes and traditions, Papua New Guinea invites you to savour its unique culinary delights. Sample the local fare, which includes roasted sweet potatoes, fresh seafood, and the staple dish mumu, a traditional meal cooked underground with hot stones. The flavours are compellingly earthy and fresh, a true reflection of the environment they come from. For those with a gourmet palate, custom vacation packages to Papua New Guinea often include guided culinary tours that showcase the best of what the islands have to offer. Such culinary journeys allow travellers to not only taste but also appreciate the stories and traditions embedded in each dish.

Practical Travel Tips

When planning your custom travel packages to Papua New Guinea, consider key travel tips to enhance your journey. The best months to visit are during the dry season, from May to October, when the weather is most conducive to outdoor activities. Opt for locally guided tours to gain deeper insights and ensure safe navigation through more remote areas. Remember to pack light, breathable clothing to stay comfortable amidst the tropical climate, and always show respect for local customs and traditions by learning a few phrases in Tok Pisin, one of the official languages.

Embrace the Untamed Beauty

Papua New Guinea vacations offer more than just an escape; they are an invitation to reconnect with nature and humanity in its rawest forms. Whether trekking through dense jungles, diving into crystal clear waters, or engaging with communities that live in harmony with their environment, each experience is transformative and enriching. Custom vacation packages to Papua New Guinea provide the flexibility to tailor your adventure to suit your interests, ensuring that your journey is as unique as the landscapes that unfold before you.

You should try a Zen meditation session. Imagine slipping into a silk kimono for the day—carefully tied by an expert dresser, every fold precise, every colour chosen to suit the season. It’s a ritual that feels as personal as it is timeless.

What do I love about Japan? In a word - EVERYTHING. The incredible contrast that Japan offers - new/innovative vs old/traditional, the warm and welcoming people, the incredible rich culture, the culinary wonders awaiting around every corner, the cleanliness, efficiency and safety. It's one of the best places to visit in Asia in my opinion.

Pub Street in Siem Reap, Cambodia, is a local favourite with very inexpensive drinks. It's also a great place to try the local delicacy, BBQ frog.

I love how laidback and relaxed Laos is compared to other countries in Southeast Asia. It's like the best of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand all rolled into one, and then sent back in time 20 to 30 years.

After spending some time with our agent, we felt that she understood exactly what we had in mind as far as the level of service, etc, we were hoping for. The trip exceeded our expectations. Lori kept us busy(not too busy!) and we had many, many very exciting experiences. Bruce Belshaw

Aylin is an exceptionally proficient advisor. Coordinating my clients simultaneously often feels like herding cats, but she has remained patient and accommodating through every modification and delay. Goway continues to be my go-to for complex itineraries, and they never disappoint.Nick Cron, ACC

My daughter and I had a wonderful 2 weeks in New Zealand! The country is so beautiful and the people so friendly. Our destination specialist did a great job with planning and organizing the itinerary, choosing our hotels, and organizing transportation. The hotels were absolutely beautiful and we had great views. We felt right at home and found all of the staff to be friendly and accommodating. There were no issues with our itinerary and our excursions we were always on the list. Our transportation was always ready and waiting for us. We want to thank Goway Travel for their hard work and patience with us in planning this trip. Any changes that needed to be made were communicated timely. We also want to thank you for the beautiful weather during the entire 2 weeks it was perfect every day 😀. It was a memorable trip that we will never forget and we will think of Goway when we plan our next adventure. Because it was not just a vacation; it was an adventure!Connie Wenhardt

Brigitta Fuller is Amazing! She was my group coordinator. She understood the assignment and all the nuances I was trying to achieve. The itinerary she curated was fantastic. If you want someone who truly cares about her group and what they are trying to achieve. I will always reach out to Brigitta first for Europe groups. Kathryn Walker

My clients had a wonderful time on their trip to Easter Island. They were very pleased with the Hare Nua Hotel Boutique and especially noted the warmth and hospitality of the hotel staff as well as their excellent breakfasts. Jaime Vargas-Hendandez was an exceptionally gracious and knowledgeable agent, who went out of his way to ensure that my clients had the best possible experience. I will definitely contact him for future bookings and will recommend him to my colleagues.Alethea Kardas

We were just back from an ambitious 42-day grand circle through seven of the ASEAN countries! An itinerary gestating over a period of time, carefully planned and pore over intently all the way through proved satisfying as expected, but the amazing "embarras de richesse" in six weeks such as we've never experienced before truly went beyond our imagination, both in terms of scenery and culture! The vast majority of the local teams who work with Goway provided impressive service throughout our stay, and quite a number of the guides and drivers deserve to be called cream of the crop in their line of work. But ultimately, we owe our destination specialist Taryn a profound gratitude for her insight and for her coordination efforts which made all this possible. When our debit card was not retrievable in an airport ATM Taryn again went out of her way to approve a small loan through transfer to our local guide's bank account, who then withdrew cash from an ATM while we simply paid Goway Travel by credit card through an online payment link. This helped us tremendously through that difficult moment. We will always treasure this kindness on her part.Yuan Lin
