Musicians, painters and poets have long travelled to Charlevoix, known as the Switzerland of Québec because of its picturesque valleys and dramatic cliffs. The sounds of hoof steps along the cobblestone streets and church bells of ancient Québec City set the mood for the most romantic place in Canada. Small, cozy inns, boutiques and restaurants nestled into thick 17th-century walls make you say oh-la-la, as you swoon over wild game cooked to perfection before a roaring fire.
