Take a trip to Moab on your United States Vacation
Nestled into Eastern Utah on the banks of the Colorado River, Moab is used as a gateway to the National Parks of Arches and Canyonlands. While it may have a reputation as a small place of passage, Moab is a gem on its own. Rafting expeditions, a food truck park, and endless mountain biking trails are just some of the draws to Moab, in addition to its great outdoors.
Drive along the Scenic Utah Byway 128, taking in spectacular views of the Colorado River and towering red canyons that line the road until you reach the gates of Arches National Park. The sprawling area is composed of more than 2000 natural stone arches, dotting the landscape like peepholes onto the rocky terrain. Pinnacles twist high into the sky, providing shade as you hike through the rugged environment to the spectacular viewpoints at Delicate Arch, Balanced Rock, Park Avenue, and more.
Head the opposite way to Canyonlands National Park, famous for an enormous flat mesa with sweeping views over the warm terrain. The Colorado River winds through the dramatic canyon, splitting the park into four distinct areas. The panorama from Island in the Sky is a visitor favourite, whereas the backcountry nature of The Maze and colourful spires of The Needles are great hiking options. Cool off by rafting or kayaking on the rivers, bringing a rejuvenating sense of life to the desert.
