Explore the museum’s vast backyard on Living Room Trail, a popular hiking spot into the foothills of Red Butte Canyon Nature Preserve. Afterwards, refuel at one of Salt Lake City’s eclectic eateries, slinging out local favourites like Navajo tacos, fried-onion burgers, and southwestern barbecue.

As its namesake, the impressive Great Salt Lake lies a few miles west of the city. The shallow waters bring you soft colours and opportunities to sail, hike, bike, and swim in the largest salt lake in the Western Hemisphere. Antelope Island State Park takes you to its sandy shores and also to the plains of free-roaming buffalo. On the other side of the city, the ski slopes of Park City bring you alpine adrenaline, renowned for their role in the 2002 Winter Olympics.
