DELUXE | SMALL GROUP: The one and only Tanzania Sky Safari by Elewana includes all of Northern Tanzania’s core highlights and offers an unparalleled game viewing and cultural experience as you fly to and from each stop.
Take to the air on this 8-day African safari adventure. See Tanzania’s most famous wildlife hot spots, including Tarangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater and SerengetiNational Park.
After a night at Arusha Coffee Lodge, perk up for your journey to Tarangire with a coffee tour on a nearby plantation. The Park is home to more than 550 species of birds and your luxurious accommodation, set amid thousand-year old branches at Tarangire Treetops, gives you a chance to see them up close. Spend your days enjoying game drives, a visit to a Masai village and a game walk.
The world’s largest open, inactive volcanic crater, Ngorongoro is one of Africa’s finest wildlife conservation areas and home to over 25,000 large animals including lions, zebra wildebeest and gazelles. It is also one of your best opportunities to see black rhinos, the rarest of the Big 5.
Spend an extra day at Ngorongoro, or visit Lake Manyara National Park. Ernest Hemmingway called Manyara the ‘loveliest lake in Africa’ (sorry Victoria!). The area is famed for its baboons, and is an excellent spot to see hippos, giraffes, elephants and tree climbing lions.
Serengeti National Park is the crown jewel of Tanzania’s safari offerings, famous for its annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Other animals include the Big 5 (more then 3,000 lions and 1,000 leopards call the Serengeti home), cheetahs, hyenas, baboon, African wild dogs and giraffes. Bird watchers should also keep their eyes peeled for over 500 species that inhabit the plains.

Arusha to Tarangire
After breakfast at your lodge enjoy your Bean-to-cupcoffee estate tour, where you will have the opportunity to see the amount of work that goes into the production of coffee before it reaches your cup. You'll also visit the Shanga Workshop, a project operated by local Tanzanians who with a variety of disabilities, excel in artistic talent and create a variety of crafts. Next up it's your safari briefing and lunch at the lodge before being transferred to Arusha Airport where you take to the air for your 20-minute flight to Kuro Airstrip in the Tarangire National Park. The Tarangire Treetops team will meet you at the airstrip for an afternoon game drive as you make your way to camp. This evening, enjoy a traditional Masaiboma dinner.
Tarangire is the unexpected awesome, the connoisseur's choice. More than 3,000 elephants - one of the largest populations in East Africa - reside here while the swamps host 550 species of bird. During the dry season, the perennial Tarangire River becomes the sole water source for a marvellous menagerie: all you need to do is sit on its banks and let the wildlife come to you.
That said, the diversity of this ecosystem ensures wildlife viewing is exceptional year-round. And it begins as soon as you touch down at Tarangire's airstrip - the onward journey to your lodge, via bulbous baobabs and grassy plains, is a game drive, not a transfer. By the time you reach Treetops, you'll already have spotted a host of species.

Centered about a Main Lodge - which itself encases a thousand year-old baobab tree - Tarangire Treetops comprises of 20 treehouses all of which are elevated above the ground affording views over the tops of surrounding marula and baobab trees.
Each treehouse boasts one of the largest bedrooms to be found in any camp or lodge in East Africa - with a floor space of 65 square metres - and all with an exotic double shower en suite bathroom. With furnishings that create warmth and demonstrate a commitment to local craftsmanship, the 'up-in-the-air' experience is completed by the open-fronted room design affording views across the Tarangire plains from an expansive but private balcony.Photo gallery

Over 20km wide and 600m deep, Ngorongoro Crater is a geological marvel and a festival of wildlife. This natural volcanic amphitheater, lined with grasslands, acacia thickets, riverine forest, and sparkling lakes, throngs with a cast of around 30,000 animals: the highest density of wildlife in Africa. Safaris here can be overwhelming, in the very best way.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After an early breakfast this morning, depart Ngorongoro conservation Area and head down into the crater for a full day of exploration of the Ngorongoro Crater. With a space of only 102 square miles and a resident wildlife population of more than 30,000 mammals, there is a great chance that you might see all of the big five. A lunch box is provided at a picnic site overlooking a small lake populated with hippos. After lunch, continue exploring the crater floor before heading back to the Manor for evening cocktails and dinner.

Ngorongoro to Serengeti
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Manyara Airstrip for your onward flight to Serengeti. Enjoy a game drive enroute to camp. After a delicious lunch at your camp, venture out on your afternoon game drive before returning to camp for dinner.
It's hard to sum up the epic Serengeti. At 14,763 sq. km, its scale is too great. And while you can revel in the bigger picture, it's also the place to embrace the individual moments: the will-they-won't-they tension of a lion pack on the hunt; the shock of a crocodile bursting from the river; the white-knuckle charge of an angry bull elephant; the dazzle of the sun subsiding into plains with no end.

Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at your camp, spend the full day exploring the vast Serengeti. Enjoy lunch in the bush after which the remainder of the afternoon will be spent game viewing. Return to your camp in time for sundowners and dinner under the stars.
The Serengeti is abundant with game - from the Big Five and cheetah to huge plains herds. You might time your visit for the dramatic peak of the Great Migration, when more than a million animals cross the rivers in the Serengeti's north. But the animals are always on the move: there is plenty to see, all over the park, year round.
