Tierra Chile Top to Bottom

Duration
8 Days
Prices From:
US$ 4,451

Chile is a stunning country from one end to the other. Embark on a unique journey from north to south, from top to bottom, seeing some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world.

Two of Chile’s major regional attractions have to be the Atacama Desert and Patagonia, both nature’s gifts to the country. The Atacama Desert extends 1000 kilometres.600 miles north to south in Northern Chile. It is the driest desert in the world and has been likened to both the planet Mars and the Moon due to its moonlike landscapes.  Nevertheless, it has a rich variety of flora with over 500 different species. It also has a large number of geysers and rock pools. It is rich in copper and other minerals. Another interesting aspect is that it has many archeological sites. The area also contains a number of astronomical observatories.

Patagonia, by contrast, offers dramatic scenery stretching the whole length of Southern Chile. The terrain consists of high mountain peaks, glaciers, lakes, rives and fjords.  It has been described as exotic, remote, vast, beautiful, wild and untamable. It is certainly all those things. The best known national park is Torres Del Paine, a biosphere reserve, with hiking trails taking you through forests and by waterfalls and lakes. The park contains many interesting tame animals.

Start your visit in Atacama staying at a boutique hotel for 3 nights located on the outskirts of the main city of the region, San Pedro de Atacama. Here you can relax and enjoy the hotel and also, whenever you wish, take exciting optional tours into the desert.

Then head south to the very tip of Chile for one night’s accommodation in Punta Arenas after which continue to the northern region of Patagonia with 3 nights in Torres Del Paine.  Here you will combine sightseeing with relaxation while enjoying the hotel’s spa and other facilities.
