FIRST CLASS | TAILOR-MADE
Explore the quintessential highlights of Spain in Madrid, Seville and Barcelona. Enjoy small group tours in Madrid and Barcelona, the beautiful city between mountains of Toledo, the Alcazar in Seville, Ronda's hanging mountaintop village and discover the genius of Gaudi and other great works of art at the Prado.

This 10-day trip offers an ideal introduction to Spain, taking you to three of its largest and most popular cities, each of which offers a very different look at one of Europe’s most colourful and diverse countries.

Start in Madrid, Spain’s capital and beating cultural heart. Take a day to settle into your accommodation, conveniently located on the Gran Via just steps from the Metro, and explore this great city at your own pace. Take it easy on your first day (nobody rushes in Spain!), then climb aboard one of two sightseeing bus routes with your hop-on, hop-off pass. You might want to visit the famous Plaza Mayor, the art museums Reina Sofia or Thyssen, the Egyptian Templo de Debod, the Royal Palace, the Archaeological Museum… Madrid’s options are endless, and your bus ticket will move you quickly and efficiently between sites. Just be sure to skip the Prado Museum – your ticket (with skip the line access) is included for the following day! Spain’s greatest art museum, the Prado contains works by Goya, El Greco, Bosch, and many more.

Take the train south to Seville, where you’ll enjoy a day seeing some of the more unusual and off-beat sights of this historic city. Visit Seville’s icons first – the university, the old tobacco factory (think Bizet’s Carmen), San Telmo Palace, Macarena Basilica, and more. Then dive into the lesser known stories of Seville, including the old Jewish quarter of Santa Cruz. Take a boat ride along the Guadalquivir River, see the city’s oldest bridge – designed by no less an architect than Gustav Eiffel, the site of the 1992 World Exposition, and the former monastery home of Christopher Columbus. There is so much to see and do in Seville, you’ll have the following day entirely at leisure to visit any sights that interest you.

Finally, fly to Barcelona, seemingly a world away from the rest of Spain, embodying the unique culture, architecture, food, and spirit of Catalonia. As you did in Madrid, you’ll have the benefit of a one-day hop-on, hop-off bus ticket to get around the major sights. Don’t miss La Sagrada Familia (though you’ll need to buy tickets online or in person very early in the day to go inside) or La Rambla. These are Barcelona must-sees! You might also like to consider Gaudi’s wildly imaginative Parc Guell, his equally eye-popping apartment buildings La Padrera and Casa Batllo, the art museums and open views at Montjuic, or the enchanting streets of the Gothic Quarter. There’s a lot to see in Barcelona, so plan ahead and try not to over-fill your day.

The following day, you’ll visit Montserrat, Sanctuary of the Patron Saint of Catalonia. Your trip includes visiting the Royal Basilica, home to the Black Virgin, and an important pilgrimage site in Catalonia. Try some unique Montserrat liqueurs before returning to Barcelona. You’ll have a little more time for sightseeing before your final night – or book an extra couple of nights to give the city the attention it really deserves.

Full Day Barcelona - Small Group

Start your tour with a drive to the famous hill of Montjuic, which offers excellent views over the city and was the site of the 1992 Olympic games. After a brief stop at the Catalunya National Art Museum (MNAC), from where you will hear all about the history of Barcelona, make your way down to Plaça Espanya and on past the Modernist buildings of the Eixample area. Your drive to the iconic Sagrada Familia will take you up Passeig de Gracia, home to the famous designer stores, and the setting for two of Barcelona's most talked about Gaudi buildings: La Pedrera and Casa Batllo.

Finally, you will arrive at Sagrada Familia where your guide will explain all about the history and importance before showing you inside for a self-guided tour. The 'Skip the Line' policy means entrance tickets will have been pre-purchased and there will be! For many, this is the highlight of their Barcelona trip as they experience the wonders of the Sagrada Familia at their own pace without being rushed around by a guide.

The group will then head to the oldest part of Barcelona, the Barrio Gotico, which, as late, as the mid 19th century was still surrounded by the Medieval walls. At this point, you will leave the bus and enjoy a stroll through the narrow winding streets of medieval Barcelona. At the start of your short walk through the historic streets of Barcelona, stop for a brief tour of one of Barcelona's most traditional indoor food markets: Mercat de Santa Caterina. From there, travel back in time, going from the Roman era through to the early Middle Ages, when the Catalan counts were controlling the Mediterranean sea, and Barcelona was the capital of an empire. During this part of the tour, you will also visit the Jewish Quarter, the Royal Palace, the original 2000-year-old Roman Temple and part of the Cathedral.

The final part of the morning tour takes in part of the Born district, where the guide will point out a variety of restaurants and tapas bars suitable for lunch before ending the trip in the magnificent Santa Maria del Mar church - one of the most beautiful in Barcelona. After a quick lunch, head straight to Park Guell, the famous city garden designed by Anton Gaudi. The guide will lead the group down through the park explaining the garden concept and introducing you to some of Gaudi's most bizarre creations. From the Park, head straight to one of the most famous Gaudi buildings of them all: La Pedrera. You will have an hour here to visit inside the building. The tour ends here at around 4pm.
