A for sure MUST!
We planned a trip to celebrate our 25th wedding annivsary and decided to go to Thailand. We did not know where to start since we had never been to Asia. After running a web search and comparing tour guide companies, we went with Goaway Travel. What can I say, if I could give Harpreet a 20 star rating, I would. Our travel specialist listened to what was important to us on our trip and made it happen. We wanted to experience 4 top destinations and added another short trip and it was as easy as ordering from a menu. They made it happen and the cost was very well worth it. We plan on going next year to another great destination which will be new to us and we will for sure, without a doubt go with Harpreet. Thank you for an amazing experience, it was truly a trip to remember. We love Goaway Travel, you will too.

Quintessential Japan Premium
Quintessential Japan Premium Agent: Harpreet Litt Goway Travels. Asia Specialist We returned from the subject tour arranged by Harpreet on April 8, 2024 We had a great time there and the tour was more than what we expected. The arrangements made were excellent, hotel rooms were very nice and comfortable, food was excellent. The tour guides were courteous and helpful. The return flight connections were tight, but we made it on time. ANA was able to connect the files at Osaka and the luggages were tagged to Edmonton as arranged by Harpreet. We appreciate her services and will keep in touch for any future travels.

Awesome customer service
I am a travel agent that has been using Goway for many years. They always offer top notch customer service and have top quality products. I have recently worked with Peter Cheng for a clients family trip to Japan. In his absence, I worked with Sahajal to take care of a last minute issue and he looked after it very quickly and efficiently. I recommend both of these Goway employees for any future trips. They are both highly dedicated employees.

Best Time To Visit

There really is no bad time to visit the Maldives. Slight seasonal differences, however, can make certain times more optimal for certain activities.

Running from November to April, the dry season provides visitors with the most hours of sunshine as well as calmer water conditions, making it perfect for activities such as diving, sailing, fishing, and beachcombing. As a result, visitor numbers are at their highest, as are travel prices.

The monsoon season, from May to October, is marked by slightly higher levels of rainfall, but it tends to occur in short, sharp bursts. Surfing is at its best during this time of year, with several resorts offering surf lessons. Prices and crowd numbers also tend to be lower.

On July 26, Maldivians celebrate Independence Day, with festivities such as fireworks, float processions, boat races, and communal feasts extending over several days. As a Muslim country, the Maldives also mark Ramadan during the first half of the year, which may impact restaurant hours, the availability of foods such as pork, and the serving of alcohol, even inside resorts.

When Ramadan fasting is over, Malidivians celebrate Eid in their own distinctive way, blending Islamic faith with island customs (traditional morning prayers, for instance, are often conducted in open fields or beachside clearings as well as in local mosques).

I would say October and April are the best time to visit as you can get good prices and good weather! Rainy season is between May and September, but even then it's just short showers with plenty of sunshine. Likewise, in the dry season (November-April) still expect to have a good shower every now and then!

Be careful not to overpack your luggage - no matter what your airline limit is. To get to most resorts you need to take either a speedboat or seaplane and these have restrictions which vary from the airlines!

Frequently Asked Questions

Maldives is a great your-round destination, but the dry season, which runs from October to May, offers the most sunshine, calmer seas, and fewest chances of rain.

As the Maldives are somewhat remote, visitors should plan for a minimum stay of five to seven days. Opt for a longer trip if you want to visit more than one atoll.

Better than good. The Maldives offer superlative diving experiences due to their pristine reefs, crystal clear waters, and abundant sea life.

The Maldives can be enjoyed by every type of traveller, with resorts offering everything from adults-only vacations to family-friendly stays. Honeymooners, however, will appreciate the seclusion of many overwater accommodations and romantic beachside settings.

Many resorts are family-friendly and offer a wide range of activities for children.

Maldivian all-inclusive resorts typically include food, some types of alcohol (premium options often cost extra), and some activities. Off-site excursions usually have separate fees.

Travelling between islands in the Maldives is not common unless you’re staying at nearby resorts that offer direct speedboat transfers. Longer distances typically involve seaplanes or domestic flights.

Alcohol is allowed within resorts but prohibited outside of them.

The local currency is the Maldivian rufiyaa but U.S. dollars are widely accepted.

Yes. The Maldives can be combined with any destination that rings the Indian Ocean, especially India, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates.

Your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from your arrival and you will be issued a 30-day visa free of charge.

The Maldives is very safe for visitors, but the usual precautions should be taken when travelling.
