Founder Bruce Hodge on Goway’s Origins

Tales from the Road

Since establishing Goway nearly six decades ago, founder and president Bruce Hodge has had an outsized impact on the tourism business, from pioneering travel to destinations such as Australia to refining the concept of tailor-made trips. Now, in this new six-part series, the lifelong globetrotter tells the tale of how Goway grew to become the company it is today...one continent at a time.

I am excited to share the stories in this series, which detail how Goway evolved from a one-man operation in 1970 into the global company we know today. Over that period, I have logged a lot of miles, from my native Australia to Europe, Africa and beyond. These tales recall the many adventures and relationships that shaped both me and Goway. I hope you find them illuminating and enjoyable.
