Overview
Take a trip to Red Sea on your Egypt Vacation
The Red Sea is a seawater inlet of the Indian Ocean lying between Africa and Asia and it is the world’s northernmost tropical sea.
The Red Sea is perhaps most famous for its association with the Biblical account of the escape of the Israelites led by Moses in the Book of Exodus where God parted the sea allowing the Israelites to cross on dry ground. Along with this narrative, the Red Sea was the site of many explorations from the Ancient Egyptians to Alexander the Great and was used by the Romans for trade with India. Check this region out on an Egypt vacation.
It was also important during the Middle Ages when it was part of the Spice Trade. When the Suez Canal was opened in 1869, the Red Sea was able to maintain its status as an international trade route as well as a travel route for Europeans.
Egypt’s Red Sea Coast runs from the Gulf of Suez to the Sudanese border and the special biodiversity in the area has resulted in the creation of Ras Mohammed National Park. Through the park, the Egyptian government is able to protect the waters and marine life in the area. As a result, Ras Mohammed has become, on an Egypt tour, a major draw for diving enthusiasts who come to visit each year from around the world.

What do the experts say?
Egypt is modern and cosmopolitan, yet still rooted in a culture of hospitality. Whether sipping tea with locals or exploring sacred sites, you will find that human connections are as memorable as the monuments themselves
The ancient monuments carry an extraordinary historical significance and relevance. You feel it the moment you are there!
Be prepared for a modest society. Both men and women generally cover their shoulders and knees, and visitors should do the same out of respect.
November to April is the most pleasant weather-wise, while summer can be sweltering with many days over 45 degrees Celsius (about 113 degrees Fahrenheit).
For Egypt's biggest draw, the people have to be on top, but the culture and history are not far behind. It’s a destination where warm hospitality pairs with awe-inspiring history to create an experience like no other.
