Overview
Take a trip to Mole National Park on your Ghana Vacation
The country’s most popular game reserve, which is one of the most affordable safari destinations in Africa. Located in the country’s northwest, the park consists of long stretches of savanna that are home to around 100 species of mammals, including elephants, hippos, buffalo, and warthogs. During the dry season of December through April, elephants abound in the park, making it easy to get up close to these gentle giants during a game drive. You’ll have a chance to spot leopards as well as various species of primates, including olive baboons and black and white colobus monkeys. The park also abounds with birds, with other 300 species, including the rare white-backed vulture.
Aside from animals, you’ll also find cultural villages and stunning views. Larabanga Village in the park’s south is the most popular. It’s centred on an old mosque built in a Sudanese style. The Konkori Escarpment in the park’s west is especially good for animal viewing. You’ll also find waterfalls along the park’s many rivers.
