Food & Drink

Experience Cambodia's culinary tapestry: bold flavors and refreshing beverages await.

Cambodian cuisine is a balance of sweet, salty, sour, and bitter tastes, often featuring fresh ingredients and a variety of spices. The most popular dish in Cambodia is Amok, which is made with freshwater fish or chicken cooked in creamy coconut milk garnered with aromatic spices. Another popular dish is Kuy Teav, which is a noodle soup dish typically served for breakfast. The dish is made from rice noodles garnished with beef, pork, or seafood and topped with fresh herbs.

To beat the humid climate, Cambodia offers a variety of beverages. Let's start with a drink called Tuk-A-Lok, a drink made from tamarind and served over ice. Palm Wine is another refreshing drink made from the fermented sap of palm trees. On top of all these, you have coffee and tea. Cambodia has a thriving coffee culture, and you can get them at every nook and corner of the country.

If you are looking to sweeten your taste buds, Cambodia has a rich selection of desserts. Two popular deserts widely available in every part of the country are Num Ansom Chek and Num Kom. The Num Ansom Chek is a rice cake steamed in banana leaves, while the Num Kom is made from rice flour, coconut milk, and sugar.
