Overview
Take a trip to Khao Lak on your Thailand Vacation
Khao Lak is a 20-kilometre/12-mile stretch of coastline set against a backdrop of jungle-covered mountains on the Andaman Sea in Southern Thailand about 100 kilometres/62 miles north of Phuket. It is generally a region for quiet and peaceful Thailand vacations ideal for families and nature lovers. The attractions here are the attractive uncrowded beaches and national parks. There are 3 main centres. Bang La On is the most tourist-oriented of the three with its many shops, bars and restaurants. The town’s beach is called Hat Nang Thong which has a few hotels and a dive centre. Just north of here is Bang Niang which is much quieter but it does have reasonably active nightlife as well as good beaches. The third centre is Khuk Khak which has a daily market.
Regional attractions include Lampi Waterfall, best viewed in the early morning as the sun rises from behind the mountains. Here you can go swimming in a pool or at the nearby beach. Another is the Khao Lak Lam Ru National Park with its beautiful cliff scenery and beaches; there is quite a bit of animal and bird life Khao Sok National Park, offers nature activities such as jungle trekking on foot or on an elephant, visiting waterfalls & river rafting and canoeing. The Saori Foundation Centre is a workshop which develops its own textile designs. Takua Pa & Old Town used to be a centre for tin mining in the 1920s and 1930s. Today, you will see Sino-Portuguese architecture and quaint shops.

Thai Baht (THB)What do the experts say?
Thailand is a friendly destination with fun & warm people, great food, and impressive cultural and beach experiences. Simply wandering neighbourhoods, visiting temples, shops & viewpoints, and eating at local restaurants are what I enjoy most when visiting Thailand. The south of Thailand is a special location with beautiful scenery and a seemingly laid back lifestyle, so visiting this area is always a special and memorable experience.
The experience of travelling from island to island on longtail boats in the south of Thailand is something that still resonates with me after many years.
For families, visiting a sustainable community in Koh Yao Yai can bring the trip to life with local interaction. For honeymooners, personalizing memorable experiences with special menus, in-room dining and more can really elevate the experience for Goway guests.
All the people that I met at the hotel, restaurants, and parks were always smiling at me. I can feel that they are grateful to all international tourists. A Thai smile inspires me most and makes me want to revisit.
