Overview
Take a trip to Kakadu National Park on your Australia vacation.
Kakadu is Australia’s largest National Park and a World Heritage site. It is 170 kilometres/105 miles southeast of Darwin and to give an idea of how large it is, the park is half the size of Switzerland. It extends 200 kilometres/120 miles north to south and 100 kilometres/60 miles east to west with a variety of landscapes - plateaus, escarpments, floodplains, gorges, chasms, forests, swampland and waterfalls, all to be enjoyed on an Australian vacation.
Within the park are 280 species of birds, 60 mammals, 127 reptiles and 1600 plants. One popular feature is the crocodile of which there are two types, the freshwater and the saltwater.
There is a large concentration of ancient aboriginal Rock Art that are the best examples in Australia, over 5000 in total and which depict various subjects such as hunting spiritualism etc.
It is possible to take a cruise along the Guluyambi River or East Alligator River and learn about the culture and nature of Kakadu from an indigenous perspective while at the same time, watching wallabies and kangaroos jumping around. Another way to view Kakadu on trips to Australia is to take a scenic flight and obtain a bird’s eye view of the park with all its diversity. One can also journey into the bush by 4WD, go bushwalking or boating.
Although a little more difficult to get to, at Goway we feel that one of our Kakadu tours on an Australian vacation is a great way to truly experience the flora and fauna of Australia. It is an experience not soon to be forgotten. C’mon say G’day Downunder. Book one of our Australia vacations today and start exploring!

Tasmania is under the radar for many travelers, but it’s great for hikes, natural landscapes and now modern art!
Sydney and Melbourne are a great combination for first-time visitors to Australia, with Brisbane, Adelaide and/or the Outback added in, depending on how much time you have. Returnees should take in Perth, Darwin and the Kakadu National Park area and/or Tasmania if they can, plus spend some time in the cities they loved the first time around
It might sound cliche, but you really can visit year-round. Australia is a big country, so there is always somewhere with amazing weather!
Goway’s trips to Australia are not stock itineraries. We can put together trips of a few weeks or a few months, allowing you to see as much of the land Downunder as you can. And we offer a mix of travel options, from self drives to train journeys to long stay
