Take a Trip to Marlborough Sounds on your New Zealand Vacation
The sunny region of Marlborough Sounds is located at the top of the South Island of New Zealand and occupies one-fifth of the country’s total coastline. It is made up of four individual sounds all linked together. Geographically it has steep wooded hills and many small, quiet bays, all to be enjoyed on a New Zealand vacation.
The best-known and visited sound on a New Zealand vacation is the Queen Charlotte Sound. With its Queen Charlotte Track, one of nature’s wonderlands along which one can hike and experience stunning coastal views as well as historic landmarks plus a variety of wildlife. Picton is situated at the head of the Queen Charlotte Sound and is the starting point for the ferry service across the Cook Strait to Wellington on the North Island. It is a small, picturesque seaport built around a sheltered harbour with an attractive seafront dotted with cafes, restaurants and a number of arts and crafts centres.
Marlborough Sounds are also home to New Zealand’s award-winning wine region which produces world-class Sauvignon Blanc. One can enjoy a tour of the local wineries.

We started planning this trip 6 months prior to our travel date and had a lot of questions regarding this trip.
