Nestled in Northern Europe, Denmark seamlessly marries the old-world allure with contemporary flair, making it a cornerstone for the best trips to Europe. Whether you're exploring the vibrant cityscapes or serene countryside, Denmark offers a wealth of experiences that make for the best vacation packages to Europe.

The Allure of Copenhagen

Copenhagen, the capital city, is a dazzling urban centre that blends historical grandeur with modern sustainability. As you wander through the city's labyrinthine streets, you'll encounter the majestic Amalienborg Palace — the heart of the Danish monarchy. Witness the changing of the guard, a ceremonial spectacle that offers a glimpse into royal traditions.

The colourful facade of Nyhavn, with its kaleidoscope of buildings lining the canal, paints a quintessential picture of Danish charm. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely boat tour of Denmark's waterways or enjoy fresh seafood in one of the bustling harbourside restaurants. Remember to visit Tivoli Gardens, one of the oldest amusement parks globally, exuding an enchanting aura that captivates both the young and the young-at-heart.

Cultural Riches and Historical Treasures

For those drawn to history and culture, Denmark brims with iconic landmarks and museums. The National Museum in Copenhagen is a treasure trove of artefacts, reflecting the country's illustrious Viking past and its rich cultural tapestry. Meanwhile, the fairy-tale landscape of Kronborg Castle in Helsingør, immortalized by Shakespeare as Elsinore in "Hamlet," stands as a UNESCO World Heritage site, offering sweeping views over the Øresund Strait.

Travellers will relish exploring Aarhus, known as Denmark's cultural capital. This city offers an eclectic mix of avant-garde architecture and burgeoning arts scenes. ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, with its striking rainbow panorama, provides an interactive visual feast and is a staple in any tours of Denmark.

Nature and Serenity

Beyond the cities, Denmark's natural beauty is a serene alternative. The country's coastline is a mosaic of sandy beaches and rugged cliffs, such as those found at Møns Klint, where white chalk cliffs rise dramatically against the azure sea, creating a spectacle that commands the landscape.

Venture to the Jutland Peninsula and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the North Sea shores or the rolling heathlands of Thy National Park, perfect for hiking and bird watching. These destinations encapsulate the essence of Danish scenery, where nature and tranquillity beckon those seeking a respite from the urban bustle.

A Culinary Journey

No visit to Denmark is complete without indulging in its gastronomical delights. Renowned for its new Nordic cuisine, Denmark is home to a range of culinary experiences that promise to tantalize any palate. Copenhagen's Michelin-starred restaurants, such as the world-famous Noma, spearhead this culinary renaissance—redefining traditional tastes with innovative local ingredients.

A foray into Danish culinary culture would be incomplete without sampling the traditional open-faced sandwiches, smørrebrød, or the sweet indulgence of kanelsnegle (cinnamon rolls), both staples of Danish fare.

Enchanting Danish Folk and Festivals

Denmark's cultural landscape is enriched by its vibrant festivals and warm local hospitality. The Roskilde Festival, a noteworthy musical gathering, invites global artists and music lovers to partake in an exhilarating celebration. Meanwhile, Denmark’s multitude of local festivals, including Viking reenactments and midsummer celebrations, offer an inviting immersion into the heart of Danish traditions.

Above all, it's the Danish concept of "hygge"—a warm, comfortable conviviality and contentment—that best encapsulates the Danish way of life. Visitors often leave with a profound and lingering connection to the people and their lifestyle.

As you contemplate the possibilities of your next adventure, let Denmark's captivating blend of history, culture, and natural beauty guide your way. Embarking on one of the best vacation packages to Europe promises not just a journey across landscapes but through the very heart of a nation steeped in heritage and innovation. So, pack your bags and set your sights on Denmark—where every corner has a story waiting to be discovered.

Late May through early September, with June and early July being the sweet spot. Warm but comfortable temperatures, long daylight hours in June (sun sets around 10 PM) and lower chance of gray, drizzly weather compared to the rest of the year

Denmark is extremely bike friendly - and that affects how you get around. Bikes have the right of way in many places. Traffic rules are strict - jaywalking or ignoring bike lanes can get you in trouble or at least surprised by local reactions

We are still on our journey in Italy. At Capri now and heading to the Amalfi Coast. So far, we can’t thank Goway enough for putting our itinerary together so quickly. Everything is going well and hope the next 10 days are perfect too. Gladys Vivian

Can't say enough good things about Goway Travel. From the very start, our travel rep, Harpreet, listened carefully to what we were hoping to see and do on our first trip to Japan. She asked great questions and then came back to us with a detailed itinerary packed with adventure and fun, and all within our travel budget. From the moment we took off from LAX, Harpreet had made sure we had every tour voucher, hotel voucher, plane ticket, train ticket, literally every detail covered. All we had to do was follow our itinerary. Also, Harpreet booked us into terrific hotels. Each one was spotlessly clean, comfortable, included a full (and delicious) breakfast and, most importantly, was centrally located to all of the activities she had planned for us. So everything was a 5 or 10-minute walk away. In three weeks' time we were able to visit six cities and so many fascinating shrines, temples, castles, imperial palaces - most of which were World Heritage sites. Harpreet also tucked in fabulous "experiences" like learning how to make sushi with a professional chef, enjoying a tea ceremony and watching graceful Geishas dance. My husband and I are seasoned travelers. But we don't speak Japanese and we really knew very little about the country. There is no way we would have been able to see and do all of the fascinating things we did in Japan if we hadn't chosen Goway Travel to be our guide. Many thanks for an unforgettable trip! Great country (Italy), great people and love the feel you get by just being you. Ingrid Aird did a great job with a pair of tours one private and one group. Organizing pickup from airport and flights. Hotel, Enterprise Hotel, after a bit of a rough start getting us into a proper room, was more than excellent.Thomas Helps

We were looking forward to a magical vacation in Greece, and Goway Travel delivered on all fronts. This is the second time that we have booked with them (the first being an incredible excursion in Thailand), and everything went along swimmingly. Only on one occasion did a tour go sideways, but our Goway specialist (Patrick) took care of it for us. When your tour involves many flights, numerous hotels, various tours, ferries, and transfers, it is nice to know that your travel specialist can handle it all. Goway (from Patrick to all the other staff involved) handled everything in such a professional manner. Thanks Goway for such an incredible experience in Greece. I look forward to another adventure in the near future!Jenny Friess

We recently returned from France - three cities in two weeks - and our trip was fantastic! Jacqueline helped us with a return to France with no worries and concerns. Drivers met us at every destination- hotels were superb and the individual tours memorable. This is a return vacation with Goway and we could not be more pleased. The customer service is top notch and all questions answered promptly. For us seniors, we appreciate all the thoughtfulness and consideration.ElizaGray

While researching suppliers for a clients Thailand honeymoon, I remembered being referred to GoWay by a longterm TA ….because they “get it right and get it done!” I had already started their training modules, so I put in a quote. Immediately, Taylor responded with a very thorough email and we decided to chat. I gave him my specifics and he again responded immediately and matched my client’s travel needs 100%. I found it comforting to speak with a country expert with the knowledge I needed. My clients booked their vacation and are very excited about their itinerary! Thank you Taylor for making this process seamless.Karla B
