Your Guide to a Fiji Cruise in the South Pacific

Tell me more

Fiji is one of the most beautiful locations in the South Pacific. Made up of 332 captivating islands, Fiji offers decadent scenery with sandy beaches, translucent waters, multi-coloured coral reefs, fruit and coconut plantations, volcanic mountains, and over 100 uninhabited islands – all waiting to be explored. Fiji is the perfect destination to explore on a cruise -as water separates most of the island’s attractions- where you can discover the best land and water-based activities. Hop off onto warm sands to suntan on a completely private island, explore the museums and attractions of the larger Fijian islands, and swim and snorkel with sharks and manta rays.

There are plenty of cruise itineraries available for exploring Fiji, including the following renowned 4-star cruises offering authentic Fiji experiences:

Blue Lagoon Cruises

The Blue Lagoon offers three exciting cruise itineraries through the beautiful Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands, known for their luscious papaya and mango plantations. The cruises run over the course of three or four nights, or you have the option of combining the two with a seven-night itinerary. These cruises are mainly adult-only, but a few departures are available for families. You'll only spend a maximum of 4 hours per day cruising, meaning you'll have plenty of time to explore attractions off-board. Highlights of these cruises include a stop at a private island where you can swim, suntan, and snorkel away in your own little slice of paradise. Fiji’s Blue Lagoon cruises have been running for over 50 years, perfecting the ultimate Fijian itinerary with a 100% Fijian staff, one of the friendliest cruises in the world.

Captain Cook Cruises

Captain Cook offers a variety of cruise itineraries, including day cruises, dinner cruises, and three-, four-, seven-, or eleven-night cruises. There is even the option of staying overnight at resplendent Tivua Island. All Captain Cook cruises are family-friendly and offer tailored packages suiting both young and old. They also have four vessels departing weekly throughout Fiji with varying itineraries, from the renowned Yawasa Islands to the quieter islands of northern Fiji. Captain Cook was voted Best Cruise Line by the Fiji Visitors Bureau and Best Fiji Experience by the Fiji Tourism Awards.

World Class Resorts

Want to stay longer in Fiji? Extend your trip before or after your Fiji cruise and stay in one of the archipelago’s world-class resorts. There is a resort atmosphere and budget suitable for every globetrotter's needs across the archipelago's hundreds of islands. Stay in beachfront bures (Fijian huts), explore Suva's impressive architecture and culture, visit the Garden of the Sleeping Giant at Denarau Island, or explore the sugar mill in Lautoka. Discover the marine reserve at Treasure Island, soak in the hot springs of Savusavu Bay, or spend time trawling the markets for South Pacific black pearls. The Coral Coast's 80km beachfront offers a plethora of barrier reefs ideal for snorkelling, along with excellent resorts. Castaway Island offers much-needed solitude and silence if you’re looking for an escape.

Friendly People

The people of Fiji make visiting this collection of islands a memorable and rewarding experience. They are a close-knit community where everyone is equal, making Fiji undoubtedly one of the friendliest places on earth. Wherever you go, you can enjoy world-class service and friendly conversations and maybe even leave the islands with friends for life.

Markets, Museums and More

There are plenty of land-based activities to look forward to on your Fiji cruise. Spend your days exploring the markets, museums, and cultural attractions of the larger islands or relaxing on the beaches of the uninhabited islands. Enjoy visits to local schools and villages, savour traditional Fijian cuisine, and meet the friendly locals.

South Pacific Waters

There is much to be enjoyed both above and below the surface of the South Pacific. Spend your time swimming in the crystal-clear water, diving with sharks or manta rays, snorkelling to see the abundance of vibrant tropical fish, or enjoying glass-bottomed boat trips to view magnificent whales. Here in palm-fringed paradise, the world is your oyster.

There is simply no better way to explore Fiji than with an exciting multi-day cruise with so much to see and do offshore and on land.

For first-time visitors, I suggest splitting their stay to experience a few nights at a resort along the Coral Coast, where they could experience a visit to a local village, then end their trip at one of the islands in the Mamanucas to experience some different beaches and activities. For returning visitors, I recommend exploring a different group of islands, such as heading to one of the Northern Islands, which is a short flight from Nadi.

I can't tell you enough how much I love to work with Callie. She is a life saver and I love how attentive she is. Every time I give her an itinerary for a client- she really knocks it out of the park with the proposal. If there are any issues- she is on it right away. Her work ethic is outstanding.Michelle Labarca

We were trying to navigate Swiss Travel Center to book a 10 day train trip through Switzerland. It was exactly what we wanted but navigating their site was extremely difficult for us. Goway Travel picked up on our plight and put us in contact with Jacqueline Fagooli, one of their agents. From there on everything was so smooth. Their efficiency, communication, and thoroughness were beyond our expectations. The trip was fabulous and kudos to Jacqueline and Goway for their help in making it so.Carolyn McCormack

The destination specialist I've worked with (Kim Rawlings) has provided exceptional service. She is very knowledgeable of her region and everything they have to offer. She is very prompt in her communication and follow-up. She listens and is very attentive to my client's needs and wants. Kim's personality makes one feel like they've known each other for years. If GoWay had a customer service model, Kim is it.T. Jackson, Tribe Trek Travel

I just returned from escorting 34 people to China with four stops. We had hotels, local guides and extensive daily sightseeing. We had flights and we had high speed rail. There were numerous components that could have gone wrong but did not. I would like to highly recommend local guide Yoyo in Shanghai as well as Kevin in Xian. Two of the best guides I have ever had anywhere in the world. Suzette Castro and her team at the Goway Group Department did an excellent job helping me put this together. I was demanding, they were totally cooperative. It went well. I will be back. Amy Fink, CTC at Blue Ribbon Travel ArrangementsAmy in San Bruno, CA
