Overview
Take a trip to The Prairies on your Canada vacation.
The Canadian Prairies (usually referred to as the Prairies) is a region in Western Canada that includes the Canadian portion of the Great Plains of North America, and three prairie provinces: Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. The Prairies begin where the Rocky Mountains end and terminate at the border of Ontario. The resource-rich region has long served as the country’s breadbasket. The Prairies contain nearly 90 percent of the country’s arable farmland with vast fields of wheat, barley, canola, and world-famous Alberta beef.
