If you are looking for one of the few unspoilt regions in Africa, this wild and beautiful country is for you. This is true African wilderness, where animals roam freely, and visitors are flown into the remote camps, from which they can explore the area.

Botswana’s Okavango Delta is one of the most incredible wildlife and wilderness sanctuaries in Africa. It is the largest inland delta system in the world, an area of 15,000 km2 filled with water channels, lagoons, swamps and islands. It is a wetland paradise located deep within the arid Kalahari Desert supporting a habitat that is mind-blowing in its number of diverse species of mammal, fish and bird life.

In the heart of the Okavango Delta is the Moremi Game Reserve, a place of lily-covered wetlands, grass plains and forests and prolific wildlife. On the southern banks of the Linyanti River is the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve. Here the marsh subsides into lagoons and steadily flowing rivers with riverine forests leading to open grasslands and dry inland wooded areas. The wildlife is plentiful especially in the dry winter months when great concentrations of elephant, buffalo and zebra congregate along the river. The Savute area in Botswana borders the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park and in true Botswana fashion boasts one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife.

The Selinda Reserve is one of Botswana's most unique ecosystems and the only reserve to straddle both the Okavango Delta and the Linyanti ecosystems making a haven for wildlife migrating between the two ecosystems.

Another noted area is Chobe National Park. Chobe has one of the world’s largest elephant populations and is considered one of the best wildlife viewing areas in Africa, with particular reference to its fantastic predator populations. Animals are present during all seasons and, at certain times of the year, their numbers are staggering!!

It’s a vast country, with huge populations of game, and is truly one of the world’s last unspoilt wilderness areas.

We recommend combining camps from different areas and habitats which give you both a ‘water’ and a ‘land’ experience. Our Experts will help you optimize your Botswana experience.
