Oman offers a hot climate and very little rainfall. The rainy season is from late June to October and during this time, Dhofar in the south is subject to the southwestern monsoon. Mountainous areas also experience some rain, however, other areas, particularly along the coast may receive no rain during the year.

The hot season is from May to September and temperatures can reach up 50˚C (122˚F) even in the shade. October to April is considered winter, however the weather during these months is usually mild and pleasant with temperatures averaging between 15-23˚C (59 - 73.4˚F).
