Overview

Take a trip to Port Moresby on your Papua New Guinea Vacation

Port Moresby, named after an English seafaring captain, one John Moresby and the country’s first European visitor, is the capital of Papua New Guinea and the South Pacific’s largest city. It is a place to enjoy a quick stopover before visiting the highlights and beauty of the rest of the country on Papua New Guinea tours.

The Parliament Haus is Papua New Guinea’s most impressive building. One can also spend time at the Botanical Gardens with its collection of wildlife and tropical birds, the National Orchid Garden, the monthly Ela Beach Craft Market to purchase carvings and handwoven baskets and Touaguba Hill for a great panoramic view of the city.

Nearby are some good diving sites on Papua New Guinea tours due to the reefs and wrecks there.

I love learning about Nicaragua's culture and experiencing its Spanish influence in some cities. I was only there for five days, but I'll never forget how delicious the food was and how welcoming and extremely polite the people were.

The Day of the Dead in Guatemala is a great local tradition where people gather to fly giant, intricately decorated kites to honour the dead.

The colourful Spanish architecture, the beautiful scenery, particularly the stunning lakes, and the Mayan ruins are what I love most about Guatemala!
