Overview
Take a trip to Coral Coast on your Fiji Vacation
The Coral Coast on the main island of Viti Levu was the first region in Fiji to be developed for tourism and is the most popular area for visitors on a Fiji vacation. This region is located on the south-western side of the main island starting 15 kilometres/10 miles south of Nadi and takes 90 minutes to drive along en route to the capital, Suva. It is located on one of the world’s largest coral reefs and offers 80 kilometres/50 miles of excellent beaches with a good choice of resort hotels.
As you drive along the coast made up of bays, beaches, rocky promontories and mangrove forests, you will notice the background of steep hills rising sharply into the mountain ranges. The resort and market town of Sigatoka is one of the main centres of the Coral Coast on trips to Fiji.

For first-time visitors, I suggest splitting their stay to experience a few nights at a resort along the Coral Coast, where they could experience a visit to a local village, then end their trip at one of the islands in the Mamanucas to experience some different beaches and activities. For returning visitors, I recommend exploring a different group of islands, such as heading to one of the Northern Islands, which is a short flight from Nadi.
